    It's odd how people in real life can be completely different from how you'd expect them to be. My mate went to college with Steve Coogan's sister and met Steve a couple of times. He was struck by just how unfunny he was to hang out with. Just a bit irritating. Like Alan Partridge.

    Some comedians are like that re- quite serious and bordering on boring in real life.
    Some unfortunately have depressive issues, Tony Hancock being a classic case in point.
    I once got chatting to the late Paul Shane. He confided that doing stand up and acting was
    the best job he'd ever had and he used to have low points and get really depressed thinking that it might come to an end.

    The one exception to the rule I know about was the late Tony Capstick. A mate of mine in Donny went to College
    with him and reckoned he was a laugh every minute of the day. Sadly in later life he developed a drink problem
    and after a series of drink related driving offences had his contract with Radio Sheffield terminated in 2003. He
    was sadly found dead at his home in the October of that year, at the age of fifty nine.

    Nudger is my favourite poster on here by a country mile.
    And I mean no disrespect to any others with that. But some are true football folk, some politics, some statistics or news updates, and very many are witty and amusing.
    But Nudger is different gravy for his comedy gold. And the ‘usual suspects’ bite every time, totally missing the point that he is on the mickey take.
    And, having said this, I do not know him personally, but wish I did.
    Think it’s known as a ‘virtual online man crush’.

    I met Young Nudger a few years ago in a pub in Barnsley. I found him to be warm, friendly, intelligent and quick witted.

    Couldn't stand him.

    Then he made that joke that glorified drink driving at Christmas about 48 hours after someone I knew had died in a drink driving accident. He spoke about "Negros" in another thread around that time.

    I still can't stand him. Complete arse.
