I was once drinking out of one of those sports direct mugs, and the coffee sploshed out over the top. I nearly drowned!

One rule for the bigger clubs another rule for the likes of little Bury and Co
If the powers at hand had any balls they would make an example of these cheats
unfortunately until the EFL /FA get their own house in order and come down heavily on these dodgy owners and their cheating ways corruption will be rife for the foreseeable future....in my opinion footballs corrupt from top to bottom same with Fifa

Creditors and fans alike are the only ones loosing out...those running up the debts not held to account

But what can the EFL do with the owners, in this case, Morris? He's already bailed.

Doesn't he still own the ground...?
In Derbys case they've failed 2 previous deadline ultimatums ido believe therefore they should be given a further 7 days then automatically have their football league registration taken from them...
Morris should then be asset stripped to help recover any debts occurred under him ..the stadium and land its sits on sold to settle any outstanding debt too including costs to Efl etc.

What's the betting they give 'em a wimpy further 12 point penalty to come into force at the end of the season (if they're already relegated so it won't make any difference) or at the start of next season if they're still in the Championship!

Every owner should have to put a % of turnover into a bond held by EFL at least then the innocents can be paid.

    Definitely.
Agree that there should be punishments. Particularly to Morris. But can see why the efl want to avoid revoking their membership. Not only will it cause chaos with the season, but clubs that they’re still to travel to will lose out on income and all of the club staff will be out of a job at the worst possible time given the cost of living hikes that we’re about to experience.

If they've turned down a 2-3m bid, then that's outragous. It would've been a difficult offer to turn down in usual circumstances, but in this scenario, it probably would've cleared them for the season in an instant. Instead, they're now looking for more loans to to see them through the season.

Contrast that with Wigan, who sold anything they could really. Sold a couple of youth teamers outside of the window to see them through, and then Moore, Morsy, Byrne (to Derby!), Kipre, Williams, Robinson etc...

    He just doesn't get it,

Derby County manager Wayne Rooney claimed "no-one wants us in the Championship next season" following his side's 1-0 defeat at Cardiff City.

The former England striker was critical about the refereeing in south Wales.

The Rams stay 23rd in the table, eight points from safety, after the loss.

"Are decisions being made against us because of the situation we are in? I need to ask that question because that's what it feels like," Rooney told BBC Radio Derby.

Having had 21 points deducted this season for going into administration and past financial rule breaches, the Rams have lost their last three Championship fixtures and four of the last five to again leave them facing the prospect of relegation.

Their future remains uncertain as administrators Quantuma have yet to satisfy the English Football League about funding for the rest of the season, or name a preferred bidder to take over the club.

"Referee decisions I felt all game were not good enough. Fourth official - a lack of respect in how he speaks to you," said Rooney.

"No-one wants us in the Championship next season. That's been clear all season. We've had our punishment, but ultimately, I think, the real punishment is going to League One.

"We've exceeded a lot of people's expectations and it's caused issues."

Rooney said his players were disappointed and frustrated at some of the decisions that went against them or were not given.

"I need to ask questions because they deserve a bit more protection than they are getting," he continued.

"Football's a cruel game. We had complete control and the future for this club on the pitch is bright if we can keep the players, if we can keep moving forward and progressing. Off the pitch is a different matter.

"But we are showing a real maturity, a real style and identity of football which is hard for teams to play against, and to come to Cardiff and really dominate the game is a big thing."

Derby next face a crucial home game on Saturday against Barnsley, the team immediately above them in the table.

"It's not over. It's a difficult task now, but we'll keep working and trying to put in performances and pick up points," Rooney added.

I wonder if he complained about the decisions whilst plying his trade at Old Trafford week in week out.

To a degree I agree with him. The punishment should be relegation. A bit of a " do you know who I am" about the way he talks about the 4th official but as a Manure player he's been used to getting all decisions his way as a player.

As to the Lawrence sake, apparently as they weren't prepared to pay up front they got out of selling him.. As a creditor though is want him sold.

The month has past apparently they should be relegated to league 2 at least. Rangers got it in Scotland
