Do you have any pics of the event?...I'm in a couple of Lotus owners groups and I'm sure they'd like to hear the story.

Audibooks are all on Youtube. Listening to Dr No , which seems to contain a bit of the movie Live and Let Die at the start
When I was a kid , You Only Live Twice was my favourite Bond movie followed by Live and Let Die. All the later Moore Bond movies were not great. Didnt watch any of the Dalton movies.
I can ask him ..... The footnote is, his family was told that despite amputation and prolonged chemo (I used to accompany them to Cookridge) don't expect a long life and certainly don't expect Grandkids. Yet he is still here, like myself 60 this year and looking forward to retirement. Four grown up kids and 2 grandkids. And still loves his cars!!
Nicholas Parsons. ? Bob holness was the first on radio in the 50s Sean Connery on screen 1962. A lot used to think David Niven in the spoof. Casino Royale. But that was several years later.
On her Majesty’s secret service isn’t the just the worst bond film. It’s probably the worst film of all time. ITV were airing them all last year and I recorded them and eventually watched them in order. Some have dated really badly. But the film mentioned above was shockingly bad in so many ways. Acting, storyline, quips, and perhaps most, the dreadful way it was cut with the even worse camera effects.
I’d put OHMSS in the top 3 myself, and amongst Bond fans it often comes out top. But just picking up on what you say about the editing, this is the only film in the series directed by Peter Hunt, who had previously edited the Bond films. OHMSS was edited by John Glen, who went on to direct more Bond films than any other director. So I’ll side with the expertise! It’s a shame Ian Fleming didn’t live to see this one, although I’m sure he would have been very sniffy about an Aussie playing Bond, because this film, along with From Russia With Love are very similar to the books. Incidentally, one difference to the book in From Russia With Love is that the two ladies fighting over Bond in the gypsy camp, as portrayed by Martine Beswick and Alicia Gur in the film, were in the nip in the book. But pervy old Fleming had form with this. Everybody knows the scene in Dr, No where Ursula Andress appears out of the water in a skimpy bikini. Had it been filmed as written in the book it would be talked about even more, because, yep, she’s in the nip!
Its a shame how Timothy Dalton got messed about. And because of certain restrictions, he was only allowed to do two. Apparently there was a third one planned, and it makes me wonder how he would have done with Goldeneye.
