there were several times he dropped back for the cut back, when Frieser air kicked it. It’s also up to the crosser to consider where the attackers will be.

But, specifically from that free kick, he had to be getting into the box. There would’ve been impossible for Chaplin to find him in the position he took up.

He’ll be Lording it over the critics when he gets his next goal though. Viscount how many he’s got this season on the fingers of one hand.

I so hope you're including his goal in the cup, and that this is a reference to the limited gene pool in upper crust society.

I'm a big Cauley fan but others were not to blame for him failing to score from open play recently, opportunities have been there.

So Chaplin spent all night putting crosses in ? He did set up a couple of decent crosses & then did his usual disappearing act , its easy to get out of the firing line , just hide & he does this often when the team are struggling , he goes missing , whilst others keep going & then take the stick .

It must weigh on his mind that he's on a baron run at scoring from open play.[/QUOTE]

He will score "Samedi" (someday) gerrit?? See what I did there?

Sorry I’m not Chaplins biggest fan but one thing I would never say is that he hides - Sorry my retort was tongue in cheek in that 2 of our best 3 balls across the goal had been put in by Chaplin - tis a shame he couldn’t get on the end of them as well.

    I disagree that he hides.

Baron Run. Mo Farah's nickname at training camp, apparently.

I truly hope he does. Like I said, I really rate him but his performance last night was admittedly poor.

I rarely criticise the lad cause I know he can pop up and score when you need him. Just didn’t work for him last night

Yeh i agree, i,m a big fan too, i think his poor game was compounded with the mistake for the 2nd goal, but deffo one of his worst performances, sure he,ll bounce back though...

Lost count of the times I screamed "Why is nobody busting a gut to get to the ball!".

The people next door must have thought I was having an aneurysm.

Always felt he’s best as a no. 10 / second striker. Him & Moore were a great partnership.

Even when Moore had his skull fractured & Woodrow played as a lone striker a lot he’d often venture all over & you’d end up with Brown, Mowatt, McGeehan, Bahre & Thiam all ending up in the strikers position at times.

Just imagine how good this team would be now if Moore & Brown were in it. What a team that would be.

Woodrow is still the best striker we've got. He had a bad game, but he'll come bouncing back with goals next week

Yeah not a great game for Cauley last night. Wish he would've gambled for one of those balls across the box, they were great chances for a goalscorer.

He's been playing well recently, especially dropping deep and in the build up. We know he can finish, we just need to get him in the right position - and that's the part that can be trained!

Allan Clarke would have had a hat trick for Barnsley last night, those balls across the box were right up his alley. Unfortunately his quality is very rare
