Seriously Nudge. If you were a union rep. Then shame on you. Outsourcing.
Happened to me re 3 new employers and returning back in house after 10 yrs. At the time of the original outsource. We as a section within Yorkshire water produced the best most efficient cost effective plan out of all that tendered. A third of our dept. Had already been outsourced several years before. Our figures for the other 2/3rds. (Split up to also provide comparison) Were far better than those of the private employer. The decision was a sham to say the least. Some directors siding with staying in house.
Luckily we were strongly unionised compared to other parts that were outsourced. Who had their T’s n C’s torn to shreds. ( our pensions suffered because TUPE doesn’t protect pensions as they should) Other depts. later brought back in house with severely shafted T’s n C’s.
Like the rates. Water rates for householders are a given.
Not only do the profits go to foreign investors,
but outsourcing doesn’t come free either. Profit being a condition of the tender. Leading to cuts. T’s n C’s affected. ( Who suffers most.? The workforce. Who I guess you were once a representative of)
You may argue that private investment is needed to boost finances. Wasn’t needed till Thatcher. Got her mits on the mad privatisation of industries. Instead of our own governments providing the investment. ( Countries like Germany reinvesting into their industries.) We are now at the beck and call of these financial giants. For years after privatisation the workforce was run down with less work coming in for those left. Called risk management. To an extent that the assets were in such a state that we were treading a fine line trying to keep failures of supply of water and treatment of waste to a minimum. Panic set in and investment HAD to be a priority over profit. Or the consequences were dire.
    Wake up smell the coffee.

They want to start emptying the green bins for bloody starters as there’s no real excuse at the moment, not to in my eyes.
It’s fine telling everyone to stay at home and not go anywhere unless absolutely necessary but then there’s tons of garden waste accumulating as a result, being as it’s spring and the weathers fairly good. It’s hardly rocket science that this should be seen as necessary waste removal to me

Is there no explanation on the council website?
Donny council have been bloody brilliant at comms during the crisis.

Indeed if anyone wants cheering up, you could do a lot worse than follow the Donny council twitter feed just now. It's a work of comic genius
