They have made absolutely no attempt though to make our means bigger. Other than Lee selling chicken flatbread I'd say our attempts at selling things to fans have got worse and worse. We have more fans and more potential than Luton and yet we make no attempt to capitalise on it
They have attempted to but it hasnt worked, they are poor no doubt until someone better comes along we are stuck. Forcing them out doesnt guarantee someone better coming in. The important bit for now is not going in to debt and cutting our cloth accordingly
They can put £750k into the club. Not a penny more, not a penny less. I firmly believe that the club can be run on a sustainable, competitive, entertaining basis. That might not be at Championship level, but so be it. I'd take League One - even League Two - tomorrow if the football was worth watching and the club was stable and solvent.
Don’t think it’s a case of having two players ready. I wouldn’t expect a player to replace perfectly, but should be able to make a smaller step up. We have quite a large squad already, add to that the U23 & academy. It shouldn’t be unreasonable to be asking who is our next Mads, how close are they, what do they need to be as close as possible etc. For what it’s worth, I believe BFC have shown they can identify the right players (yes some will always not make it), I think we fall down with what we do with them when they arrive in terms of making them 1st team ready.
I would rather we only spent money we make and not go down the worrying path we did with Patrick of spending what we didn't have and being in debt to the majority owner.
Could you name me one business in the whole world that is self sufficient and the owners of that business don't put money in. either there own personal money or by other means, loans etc on a regular basis( usually every year)
Just to add, if these owners put £5m or £10m into the club, there's still no guarantee of success. And when they look to move on, then that's an extra £5m or £10m for any prospective buyer to stump up. The more these owners invest, the less attractive we become when it's time to sell.
I tend to agree but that was their plan they have said it from day 1 and stuck to it. We need to stay up and drop lucky by selling a coup,e for £10m each and reinvest that money well and secure our short term future and progress. I thought these would have been Helik Woodrow Styles but Val jumping and Schopp failing completely has seen to that.
Not strictly true. Without losing Val and almost the whole infrastructure of the club behind the scenes, we could have let one of Madds or Helik go for big money, brought in a replacement, and had Helik/Madds, Sibbick, Soll and Kitching to cover. Difficult to use the example of Madds leaving for big money and not suggest we’d sign someone of a better standard initially who can hit the ground running straight away. Helik did alright didn’t he?
Other than a share issue during the pandemic, I don’t believe that money was ‘put in’ on an annual basis at Mitchells and Butlers where I used to work? Far too much debt from a failed hedge fund transaction about 15 years ago to clear but the shareholders never topped up the balance sheet.
Stendel, Struber Val coming in, , players like Anderson Helik Brittain Morris Styles being signed. Problem is us not being a stepping stone club for players and coaches and to stop that takes money then success, its not success then money which is the point of the poll.
Its something that you will never have have to worry about it will never happen Mostly because they haven't got any money to throw at the club You don't have to get into much debt at all to be in serious trouble. all that needs to happen is you don't have enough money to cover the running costs of the club One full transfer window has passed and half of another one And as far as we are aware we have not had one bid on any of our players. if nobody wants any of our players and lets just say thousands of fans refuse to renew. What's your plan or what do you think they should do put the club in admin ,borrow money , make another begging video
Theres a different between not receiving bids and not having interest. It’s perfectly conceivable that when interest is shown, and a minimum figure is mentioned, that the bids didn’t come in. Blame COVID last Summer for that rather than the playing style - although I do agree that a better playing style might make a £3 million player a £5 million player. Issue there, if true as just speculating, is that almost universally we’ve wanted our club for years to play hard ball on transfer fees. Maybe they’re doing it that but will drop those asking fees as selling becomes a necessity. We’ve got a squad that has been terribly mismanaged, dramatically low on confidence, but with enough obvious talent for teams in the Championship to want to take a look at.
They took over and had money in the bank and a good squad, they spunked that money on players like schmidt for over 1million made some diabolical decisions in 4 years to say they would do nothing stupid. It wasnt val jumping ship but the change of style the owners wanted to get more money for players that ****** us. Looks from the outside that they have got hump possibly over the purchase of land and ground and trying to pay installments with the clubs money. The ground share approaches with Wigan, bradford and rotherham and the closing of west stand appear just scare tactics aimed at the crynes and council.
People are starting threads about the "Owners" saying they shouldn't start throwing money at the club to buy players. They are currently embroiled in a court case for non payment on instalments going back years to even buy the club in the first place you couldn't make it up
The plan then is to release players on big money or let them go cheaply and put our trust and support in to a young coach snd hope he can teach our u23s / remaing players well and hopefully be succesful in the division we are in. We may then be able to sell one or two and re invest the money and grow again. Maybe.
