I didn’t buy one cos I don’t trust the board anymore. We rarely win at home and seems like no sign of that changing anytime soon due to a couple of seasons of poor recruitment.
There is a big difference between someone buying a season ticket solely because a popular player signs and someone who is on the fence and is convinced to buy a ticket after a signing or the combination of that signing plus others added together to make a decision. I don't think many if any bought solely because we signed hourihane but I bet loads did based on the combination of sacking the manager, signing hourihane, and releasing an overly sentimental video building up the signing as some massive homecoming.
Didn't say that mate. I said he was touted as player/coach and he doesn't play. So therefore he's effective just a coach. If Clarke plays him Ill reassess if he's genuinely a player/coach but at the moment he's not and as time moves on the likelihood of him playing diminishes I think. Just my opinion.
I wasn't about to get giddy because we'd signed a 33 year old whose better days were behind him. I go to Oakwell with two mates and we enjoy a pre-match pint or two in town. Their friendship transcends anything the suits in the Board Room serve up. That said with one of us likely to move a long way from the area soon and the other two of us no longer residing in Barnsley this may be the last season that we renew just because it's what we always do.
I’d hope that people bought season tickets on the back of 2 previous playoff campaigns, and in the hope of another one, rather than because of one signing. 36 games left, so there’s nowt to say he won’t be involved. Could even be saving himself for the business end of the season?
If you were daft enough to buy to a season ticket based on Hourihane's return then you're a ******* moron and I've no sympathy.
I would have thought 90%+ bought b4 the end of the Early bird. Quite a few more when finances allowed.
