Sorry to hear that. Hopefully someone stumps up some cash to keep it going. But also hopefully it’s on Mike Ashley as a last resort.
I work for an organisation that supports academics using socio-economic dat. I am a subject specialist in UK census data and data from the International Energy Agency, IMF, World Bank, UN. We used to be part of the University of Manchester but were sold off for a pound to an educational charity that's hoovered up all the academic IT infrastructure in the UK (HESA, UK Federation, UKERNA, JANET etc). As part of that I manage the projects to create software to house and disseminate such data and work with ONS, NRS, NISRA, OECD to make sure that they are taking the academic view onboard. I used to be technical, but now I'm talkative.
Retired ex-steelworker (25 years in Payroll for the majority). My Late Father was an ex-miner and ex-steelworker.
I've jumped about a bit. From bohemian Sociology graduate to English teacher, Italian interpreter, translator to a masters in Computer Science and have worked the last 10 years as a Software Engineer in the City, for the world's largest investment bank. As penance for selling out and signing the Faustian pact I run stupidly long distances.
Where's my pension pot gone?[/QUOTE] I'm not a pensions expert or qualified to give financial advice however if you have a grievance with your pension then I suggest you raise it with the appropriate organisation link As an aside, it might be wise to investigate your options with a Financial Advisor or with Pension Wise who "offer free, impartial guidance" link
Haha no. It's very bizarre, though. I banned him on here over seven years ago (just checked the ban list). That's a hell of a long time to bear a grudge for something that was essentially his own doing. Won't lose any sleep like.
Sorry I missed read the op it's my dad who's being made redundant not me but I'm gutted for him and all the other people from the area and across the country. I work as a quality inspector for a pre cast concrete firm
A friend of mine is already working on the cloud transformation for UBS - he's a program/project manager. Big Chelsea fan for his sins though
I never realised how many brainy fúckers there are on this blog! Aren't we Barnsleyites stereotyped as being as thick as pigshít if not thicker?
What's he called? (Worked there all last year in that sort of area as well so might know him - PM me if you don't want to post it on here)
Enabling support worker for adults with learning disabilities. Great for the soul and the halo, crap for the bank balance. A major factor behind my happy clapping. No time for the bitter, petty and abusive. I truly believe we are all on the spectrum, somewhere, but also so many out there have way more advantages than they appreciate.
I am a Construction Operations Manager for a large construction company. Started on the tools 35 years ago working my way up over the years. It's a tough industry to be in but don't know anything else. Would have loved to have worked with disabled, learning disabilities, a job where you can make a difference to someone's life.
