    Just sold my road haulage business after 40 years. I am the fourth generation to run it, we started with shire horse pulling barges. Very strange feeling

    I’m a proper grafter. 50-60 hour weeks.
    But…this thread makes me feel inadequate knowing what proper professional folk I am rubbing shoulders with on here.
    People reckon Barnsley folk are ‘thick’ or ill-educated but I am actually quite proud of the amount of local folk done good we have in our midst.

    I work as 'Head of Creative Production' for a large creative studio/design/VFX company. Working mostly in the realm of advertising (China and Asia in this case). Basically if you can watch it on a screen (any screen) I help make it. I did similar jobs in Mexico, LA and London before that.

    CEO. No not that one!

    Like many others, from a mining background. Dad worked at Grimey pit from the age of 15 until it shut. I worked there in the early 80s with the IEA developing clean coal technology. Remember that!
