    Roberts to start.
Shepard and Lapota to be in the squad.
    That's it. Bag of ****.

Edit: Dodgeson for cover instead of Larkesh or whatever his name was.

I bet to differ. Williams is struggling as a captain imo, we have no one to cheer the team up, to get the crowd going especially now ROberts is injured.

    Portsmouth have been losing money
Portsmouth have been losing money for a few seasons..but a £9m injection of cash from the owner has made them currently debt free.
Oxford's last accounts show a pre tax loss of £4.2m.

Most of the team have championship experience. Not convinced Williams is captain material either nor am I convinced by one of the best wing backs in the division last season playing center back. Between the midfield at Derby we had bags of experience but the midfield was non existent. Like I said I think the bloke at the wheel is out of his depth.

Liam Roberts is streets ahead of Collins and Isted as a goalkeeper.

Thanks mate. genuinely think unless we find a way to not have a clearout every year we'll be in L1 for some time. On the other hand if Portsmouth miss promotion this season it could be a disaster and Oxford can't sustain those losses.

    Roberts is the outstanding one.

Mael, Lopata & Shepherd look decent signings, but non of them would have walked into the first team. O'Keefe could work out to be a decent signing.

I think o keefe will turn out good but I think him and cotter are long term replacements for Williams and cadden.

I think you have a valid point there. Duff inherited a better squad but Collins has not got those who he inherited playing together or using the pressing game which has served us so well to effect. This pedestrian, meandering side to side isn't working with the players we have...

We are always doing this, as we are a selling club. If we played a 4-4-2 Cotter would be brilliant, as he is great going forward. We've not played such a formation for years though.I reckon we won't in the near future, either. If we went to a 3-4-3 , like Val's set up, Cotter might work there in the fron 3. Who knows?

When you look at the Derby posh Oxford and even the majority of the pompey game we were well beaten and out thought some thing you never saw from a duff side. Blame the players and experience all you want (even though we have plenty of experience) but setting up how we do and playing the tippy tappy stuff we I think your always going to struggle. Take Saturday for instance Williams was getting ripped a new one and Collins doesn't react next thing were 2 down, maybe that's Collins in experience.

Nobody yet. Roberts is good but so we're Collins and Isted.

Lopata looks the best of the bunch, but he's not yet Mads.

Rotherham are a league higher mate. Chaplin wasn’t apparently good enough for us when he dropped down the league.

Roberts but difficult to quantify if any better than Istead. Don’t think any other player improved us against last season.

Maybe another way of looking at is out of the first team who are the players that will stand up to be counted when the going is tough?
Last year we had a few throughout the team, Isted, Mads, Brittain, Thomas, Norwood etc

Britain wasn't here last season. Thomas got hammered on here regularly and spent alot of time injured.
I would agree that many players go missing take styles for example seems to turn up once every 4 games the others he's anonymous. But he probably one of the most experienced players in the division in terms of championship games under his belt so can we blame experience? I don't think so.

Yep, I meant Kitching not Brittain.
Presume you mean Luke, I’m on about Bobby Thomas?
As for Styles he is a good example of what I’m talking about has a lot of playing time but is not a player who stands up and would be followed into battle.
So again I would suggest it’s not experience more ‘leadership’ we lack.

To a certain extent I agree we don't have many players who will dig in when It gets abit tough. Look at Derby so many players went missing and after going a goal down you know its more or less over.
