I once saved £67 in a month by just putting all my change in a tin at the end of the day. A trip to the pub, football or even the supermarket.
Round up the amount of each purchase and then stick the odd few extra pence into the Petty Cash column on your home budgeting spreadsheet. If you have one. I do. I use the amount that builds up in Petty Cash to buy all my e-books. Yeah... I'm a bit sad, aren't I...
Well I suppose you didn't really "save"it unless you used to just throw change away! It is good to do little things like that though to see how money you spend adds up.
Dont do spreadsheets. I ve always lived my life according to this 'My other piece of advice, Copperfield,' said Mr. Micawber, 'you know. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds nought and six, result misery.”
I always thought that if you borrowed money from a bank you became middle class instead of working class RH.
I’ve saved a fortune fur working from home / furlough as I’ve not been spending on a lunch in Leeds every lunch time plus odd snacks here and there.
I took my own packed lunch for forty odd years, apart from the odd occasion. I must have saved my weight in gold. Healthier for me too... I'd have been buying a bun or a chocolate bar every day if I'd gone in a shop.
I pride myself on never spending a single pound in works time as I’m there to earn not spend and I see the money I earn as ours and not mine. Neither would I ever consider calling for a pint after work like a lot of my colleagues as it seems like a waste of money that would be better spent with people I like.
How sad that you work in a place where you don’t like anyone! Is it the people or the job? Find a job you love, and you won’t have to work a day in your life!
