That's what we've been trying to say, that we've been playing like that under Valerien most of the time. 80% Hoof-Ball, you've been listening to the hype from opposing managers me thinks

I've seen a lot more games this season than normal. I'm generous putting the hoofball stat at 80%. I didn't see Brentford or Bournemouth games, but every game I've seen has been largely hoof. Thats literally the first game where we've tried to play football for most of the game (less so when Dike came on).

Maybe we have different interpretations of hoof. But long throws, high line, percentage balls into the box, reliance on set pieces, ball in the air more than on the floor, aimless long balls, hooking over heads, head tennis. Thats hoof ball to me, and if people tell me thats not happened for the majority of games, then frankly, they are being given ifollow codes to different games.

Nonsense. :) It was a tight close game (or so the BBC report says - and I quote).......

"Barnsley edged to a narrow victory against Huddersfield Town to bolster their hopes of a Championship play-off spot";)

Genuine question..not a dig as I have not seen full games. Is Cauley becoming superfluous to requirements? I recall he was often referenced as our best hope of scoring goals now rather eclipsed by Morris & Dike. I DO read people saying he put in a shift etc, but even brief highlights seem to show (and have done so for some time now) he has lost the ability when presented with opportunities to find the net , albeit I would never go so far as to say he is in the 'couldn't hit a cow's ar*se with banjo' . On that basis, can his performances of late justify his reputation (and presumably high weekly wage) given he is supposedly a centre forward or would we be better offloading end of season and get a player more suited to the role he now seems to be playing in (whatever that is!) He seems ( and I stress, only based on stats and reports) to be less of a goal threat or relevant to our progress as a team, as time goes on. At the end of the day, effort and application needs an end result to be effective
Happy to be put straight by the regulars on here who watch all the games and especially the few who clearly have a genuine understanding of the finer points of the game. Clearly big VAL rates him as he seems to be a ' fixture' in the line up.
