After a comfortable shut out on Saturday Conor has had a look at a different option in a friendly. Please cut them some slack and judge when it matters.
Agreed. Getting het up about football in general is pretty daft (although I still do from time to time) but whinging about a pre-season friendly really is uber-bonkers.
It was certainly a better second half but two defensive lapses stopped us winning again. Lots of subs second half didn’t seem to disrupt things much. 2-2 against this level of opposition was disappointing but York were on fire last season and could well do the same next. Good run out for the lads anyway and some good points in the end. Can’t keep giving goals away though
Let’s just remember it’s a friendly. Embarrassing posts on Facebook by Celtic fans at the weekend because they beat Newcastle 4-0 that makes them a top 4 premier league team, I kid you not. I’m sure rangers fans were all “ teams like Barnsley” after the 1-1 as well.
You’re welcome but I wasn’t enthused enough in the first half to start a MDT. Enjoyed second half better
York played some nice stuff by the way to complement their dirty stuff. Three players booked by a very weak referee
Cleary not in it much but Vickers was very good. Ran at their defenders even though there were usually two on him. Took his goal well. He’ll be good for us this seaso
What these friendlies are proving is that we have an Ok first 11 and the rest of the squad is woefully weak. Once again the recruitment is failing to fill obvious gaps in the squad and we are two to three weeks away from the first game of the season.
A pre season draw against a non league team, doesn't prove much in the long run. But it is worrying that the problems we've had in the team, for a few seasons now. Just don't seem to have been addressed, at all.
