I'm not going to go into details, but due to medical conditions my household goes through about 4 rolls a week. Thus, my thinking was that the 7 I had would probably not last us for 2 weeks and it was better to be safe than sorry.

We all know BarnsleyReds is a profuse shi.tter.
So it’s really improper to ask such as that.

Come on then, what's the average amount for a normal household? Any idea? I wouldn't know as I live on my own and despite going to the toilet what I would assume is a normal amount of times I seem to only buy a pack every few months. I don't remember the last time I bought any

I have no idea what the average use is. Which is why I said 'I have no idea why people are stocking up'. I would imagine it's close to one roll every 3 or 4 days, per person?

No I honestly haven't bought anything extra, I haven't made any changes to my usual shopping habits at all.

With everything that is happening I might pick up a few extra bits but as for excessive panic buying - well it just isn't going to happen. If there are any left in the supermarket I will pick up the usual monthly nine rolls (I might push the boat out and get twelve if the opportunity presents itself) but I would never go mad and buy a six month supply like some seem to be doing.

There would be plenty for everyone if it wasn't for panic buying so I just don't think it is necessary.

I'm disappointed. When you said you use more than the average at 4 rolls I thought you might have a clue what the average actually is. According to Google the average person uses 100 rolls a year and I'd say the average family is 4 people which is between seven and 8 rolls per week per family.

I must be a bit weird because I definitely definitely don't use anywhere near 100 rolls per year. I doubt it's even half of that.

My goal was to have 2 weeks worth of non-perishable food in the house. Then to do my weekly shopping as normal and save those goods 'just in case'.

I'll ask again, do you have a plan for if your household develops symptoms and needs to isolate for 7 days? I really hope it doesn't come to that. I really do.

My guess of 1 roll every 3 or 4 days was pretty much bang on then!

I also want to point out that I didn't say we use more than average at 4 rolls a week - I just said that's what we go through, so the 7 we have in the cupboard was unlikely to last for 2 weeks. I always assumed that my mrs went through more than me, but I bet we're actually pretty even.

Yes, we do a weekly food shop and we always have bits of spare pasta and soup in. We would survive without having to resort to panic buying. The supply chain would cope a lot better if everyone was a little more pragmatic.

That's absolutely fair. We very rarely eat tinned or frozen goods, which is why I had to buy them in as a backup. We try and eat fresh as much as humanly possible.

Practice to get bowel movements on a routine. Same time every day whilst at work. save a fortune. If you don't work weekends. Use a bung till Monday. Works for me. :)
PS I work in Sheffield. Plenty of arsewipes there.

Yeah it wasn't a bad guess at all. I quite like that for years you've always secretly blamed Mrs barnsleyreds for using all the toilet roll but in reality it's you who uses just as much.

I must admit that I eat a lot of fruit and I tend to buy it a little more frequently than other stuff. Thankfully fruit still seems to be readily available.

This is pretty much bang on. Not going to lie. I've never done the maths. I know how much we use together roughly on a weekly basis and I know how often I change the roll in the toilet I use. I never thought about it more than that.

No but I think we both know that at least for the next few days you're going to be watching that roll like a hawk and trying to work out how much you're both using

Absolutely. I will be making a point of making 1 roll last me the rest of the week.

I've just thought that we both work from home 90% of the time, so we go through more toilet paper than people going to an office for 8 hours a day.

I used my hand, soap and water to wipe my arse and wash it afterwards quite regularly. I also wash my arse in shower.
