They had Saturday off too. Again this is why he should have gone after millwall. We have basically wasted a month already. The other part I don’t understand is why they didn’t explore available options sooner if it was clearly on the minds of the board to let him go why didn’t they start the process earlier making enquiries etc.
I knew all the fist pumping and high fives was too much after the Derby game. It hyped everybody up for the damp squib that followed.
Normally I'd agree, but given what's been said about lack of fitness plans in pre-season, you'd think they'd need to put some time in to help catch up. Not saying flog them every day, but have them training and recovering per plans given to them and using club's facilities. They can still get the weekend off, before reporting into training hopefully under a new coach next week.
I get what you’re saying, but most other clubs aren’t bottom of the league and blowing out of their arses after 60 minutes.
If they carry on putting in performances like last week they will be taking the rest of their careers off. After Saturday the whole squad should be looking at using this fortnight to improve individually and as a team. Many fans may well take a similar approach next season.
I agree, I think that the level of professionalism and initiative is often what separates the very elite level players. As an example look at Ronaldo - he's older than Rooney and still playing at the top level due to his meticulous approach to diet and conditioning whereas Rooney's summer programme was pies, cigs and lager and he was effectively done by 30.
I don`t begrudge em a few days off missen, maybe those coming back from injury could go in and do more fitness training.
Absolutely, attitude is everything. That's why I also found the 'it's all Schopp's fault' comments annoying, because it wasn't and can never be all the manager's fault.
I personally think schopp was hung out to dry not been aloud to fetch in his assistant at least, don't think he was a great coach but wasn't backed and had no luck which is a really bad combination.
No, we needed a bit of passion. They need to watch themselves winning games like the Bournemouth one under Val , get that steel back
I'll take some robotic, non emotional competent wins over some passionate losses any day at the minute.
Training staff probably couldn’t take any more of trying to get them to get a meaningful on target!
