A lot of teams do that though. Granted we did it for longer than the just the last five minutes under Struber, but Kompany would make his way up top for Citeh and Maguire for Leicester. It's a fairly common tactic.

Today it was a last throw of the dice rather than any clear indication it's an option Murray wanted (he might have done). When chasing the game you use all options at your disposal to make something happen.

FYI I'm not saying we couldn't do with some help with physicality up front. I'm just not convinced at all that this 'target man' is the answer. Not with the way we play. I think those asking for an old school centre forward aren't acknowledging how we play the game and what we'd lose elsewhere on the pitch.

Basically he was very close to scoring first half. We got lucky.

Just offering a different view in the most articulate way I can think of. With the constant use of 'Target Man' and a thread in capital letters saying 'Big Hairy Ass Striker', along with suggestions we should sign Gestede, surely this is the forum to debate why you don't think that's a good move?

So nothing being taken personally old mate.

Woodrow was closer though. And they got lucky. In an even game it works both ways.

Wouldn't be agile enough to take advantage of the bait being swiped

Tbf it's more of an indication than if he hadn't done it Loko! And your point about using all the options available is exactly my point, having another option would be very beneficial when struggling to break down an opposition defence.

Btw, I haven't used the phrase target man. But if your interpretation of target man means good in the air but bulky and slow then I agree with you. But I don't think people are proposing that type of player - certainly what I'm suggesting is someone stronger, more physical and better in the air than our other forwards (as a different option) but not old school slow and bulky!

No response to that. Backed in to a corner with no way out.

Mate I haven't replied directly to you so I'm not sure what phrase you've used. I've only replied to those who's interpretation of a target man seems to mean good in the air but bulky and slow - or comment on some of the suggested signings/thread titles.

I've said in almost every post that we definitely need some help up front. Even said we were probably a striker light on our recruitment drive yesterday.
