He is outstanding. But everyone I know (darn sarf) agrees, nobody has a bad word to say about him. And as for social media, it's just a cesspool of noise. Haters gon hate, as they say...
Someone needs to analyse his pitch time v goals conceded, because I’m sure that even last season he was Man City’s best, whilst Dias was winning player of the season awards nationally….having said that, I hate it when he gets turned from a high line and is running back towards goal, always looks like he needs a fast partner to mop up behind!
Was listening to the cup game on talksport on the way home. For the goal where the keeper messes up Stan Collymore put some blame on Stones. Obviously I hadn’t seen it so presumed Stones messed up, but just seen the goal now. How the hell can they single out stones for that. As people have suggested in here, there’s definitely an agenda against Stones within the media.
totally the goalie, more than enough time to clear it and stones was showing him where. Keown was like it on BBC as well.
Danny Murphy in the studio did as well Kept saying "... but because of how hard it was played back" suggesting the keeper didn't have enough time. Load of bollòx, he cocked up pure and simple.
That’s just stupid. Totally 100% keeper error. Nicely weighted pass back straight to his feet he just took too long. Stones did absolutely nothing wrong there
Agree with this thread. I've noticed over a period of time stones has got better and better, he had a fantastic game in Madrid, was very impressed how far he's come, then I've noticed all the slagging off he's been getting of commentators, over the last few games, it's got worse. I watched the fa cup game with Liverpool he wasn't brilliant but after a tough match in Madrid a few days before he gave away a stray pass, one commentator couldn't stop moaning about him I couldn't belive the b.s coming out of his mouth. Don't know why they like to pick on him but they do, maybe when he was younger and learning his trade he did give the ball away a bit and that seems to have stuck wit him, but he definitely deserves more praise now.
It’s just media snobbery. He came through the ranks at Barnsley so he can’t be that good. If he had been he would have signed as a youth for Chelsea or Man U.
Pep might have got tactics and team wrong yesterday but he knows a good player when he sees one. Although when Klopp kept the cup keeper for the Carabo cup final it proved to be an inspired move!
