Jacob Brown would be straight back in to complement what we already have up front. He'd fit right into the system VI is playing right now.
Question is.. Is Val playing a determined system or making the best of the players he’s got.? Keiffer could probably walk straight back into this team, as we’ve been crying out for a player like him since he left.
Testament to Val that they're playing so well as a team that it's hard to see who could come in. Couldn't see say Moncur there because he wouldn't put in a full shift but those who do like say Scowen I think could fit in. No one thought Vic would play for us regularly in the Championship after all.
Like others, I would say Pinnock & Brown, would be in squad and play regular. Purely down to how VI uses his front players would expect Brown to be playing regular but only Pinnock would be a guaranteed starter for me.
The interesting bit for me is who gets dropped for Pinnock. Sollbaure/ Sibbick, Helic or Anderson. Pinnock is predominantly left sided. Is Brown better than Dike Morris Woodrow. I do agree by the way but dropping Anderson and Morris for Brown and Pinnock wouldn't improve us much due to how well we are playing. Morris by the way based solely on Sunday and potential I see with the extra physicality that Dike and Morris bring and Brown wouldn't get in ahead of Woodrow.
I liked brown, reading Stoke message board, their fans don’t seem to share my view! https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/298415/1-league-goal-22-games
It's interesting how players are thought of at different clubs. We kind of brush it off when talking about departures, but there must be so much goes through a player's mind when deciding on a move. Money is obviously a hugely motivating factor, but it can't always be just that can it? On one hand you should always back yourself to make the move and be a success, that's just the mindset of a good footballer, but if you don't hit the ground running I imagine it can feel pretty lonely not being adored by the fans like you're used to being such a pivotal player. The bank balance will soften that blow but mentally it must be really tough.
Moore, Pinnock and Brown would probably start for us. Yiadom and Roberts might start for us? Or might just be very, very good backups. Scowen could start. Marley Watkins isn't as good as the others mentioned but I think would be a really good option for our front line. Energy, pace and strength.
I think they'll come round to Jacob. I can't share to this board on this tablet for some reason but there was another thread on there saying he could have been MOTM.
As the wide forward he doesn't need to score goals to be judged a success in our system. He needs to run, press, chase defenders at the right moment and win the ball... and then after all that score the odd goal. Brown would fit perfect into Vals method.
Yes I agree. Appreciate it made financial sense in the current climate but don’t think From his point of view it wasn’t the best of moves.
If we had Moore we wouldn’t have signed Dike who is in there for a similar ish) role. At the moment of the 2 Moore is the more established striker at this level with a good goal record but Dike has loads of potential. Brown is better than either Chaplin or Frieser and would be competing with Morris who again we haven’t seen enough of to judge. pinnock would be straight in and a fit Mawson is a very good championship defender so would rotate with the other 2.
He's got the physical attributes to, would need time to get up to speed, just like Morris, but other than that, it would be down to attitude, which I can't really comment on. Seems to have got his head down for Hull.
Brown has one league goal from fifteen starts. His replacement Frieser has two league goals from eighteen starts. Very similar stats so I wouldn't see Brown as a regular starter for us when Frieser isn't.
So a front three of Woodrow Moore and Brown is an improvement on Woodrow Dike and Morris A back three of eg Solbuare Helik and Pinnock is better than Sollbaure Helik and Anderson. I see what everyone saying but based on Sunday only I'd go with our current lads.
I can only go on what I’ve seen of them in reds shirts because I’ve not seen a lot of Stoke (hardly surprising huh?) and I would take Brown over Frieser in my match day squad.
I think I’d also agree with the majority in that it would be Moore, Pinnock and Brown. I wouldn’t be swapping Andersen out for Pinnock though. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Yiadom in this system but he’s not getting in front of either Callum as it stands. They’re both brilliant.
