His agent is the Reading managers brother, maybe he was always going their.I'd not seen any local outlets linking him with us.
If Baz can start pinging crosses in like he did against Reading then he'll do for me. He's got the pace and directness that we need, he just needs good coaching and a plan to follow.
Were we actually in for this lad that only half the fanbase have heard of from Lincoln or not? Is there anything to suggest we tried to sign him other than spurious claims from random journalists and our absolutely bizarre supporters over on twitter? The way people are banging on, Reading have signed a Bobby Moore, Baresi, Beckenbauer hybrid. He’s signed for Reading, in League 1 not Liverpool or Arsenal.
I've not seen anything from a credible source that we were after O'connor. He's signed for a club who's manager is his agents brother so it's not a real surprise that's where he has gone.
I suppose my annoyance is at rumours being taken as gospel. Someone creates a rumour, people get hold of it as fact, get worse than annoyed when player goes somewhere else, portions of fans get hold of it then beat the club to death for not signing a player we were potentially never interested in. At the moment this board and DOF get so much wrong it’s unholy, but it’s a bit daft to whack them for players we might never have been in for in the first place off the back of baseless rumours.
But what's not a rumour is that the majority of clubs expected to be in contention this year have already picked up at least one free agent signing with experience at League One or above, whilst we, to the surprise of no-one, are off to another slow start. That my friend, is a fact.
Completely get that. And I agree that sometimes we may go over the top. We all share one common thing, and that's to see a successful side. Which over recent seasons, I don't think we can bash the naysayers with the decline we have been under either. I try to see the bigger picture personally, but it is getting smaller and smaller tbh. Especially when you see simple things they could get right are just completely ignored or binned...
He definitely needs good coaching and wouldn’t mind him coming on as sub to give us something different but come on we need someone much better than him and more reliable on the right hand side of our attack, let’s not get carried away by the odd decent cross.
Weather we were in or not for him is unknown, if we weren't looking at him we'd be pretty stupid, guess we'll never know, had we signed him though he would have been a very good addition so let's not pretend otherwise by downplaying it, just cones across a tad bitter.

Unfortunately you can’t coach decision making and composure. He’s not very good at the former and he has zero of the latter.
I'm hoping 2 full backs,2 wingers and 2 strikers are our main priority at the moment. Other positions needed dependent on any departures.
If we play 4 at the back and he's not overloaded with defensive duties he could be ideal. His pace and direct running would upset most defences. Fully agree he'd need coaching in the role but he's got the raw tools for the job..
