I dont think they can put them up too much, we were looking before all this happened and they seemed to be a price increase in comparison to the year before scince the collapse of thomas cook meant less competition in the market and the agents hiked the prices up on that. After this is over like donny red says many familys will have less money available to spend on the luxury of a holiday abroad.
It's impossible to predict, it may fluctuate a lot. When things do return to something like the norm again the airlines (that survive) aren't going to just start flying all routes immediately. It will be a but like starting again for many of them. Obviously a lot of people will want/need to travel again. From a holiday point of view I can't imagine many people wanting to book a foreign holiday this calendar year.
Must admit fortunately I havent any holidays booked at the moment - I would usually be skiing this week - or possibly next but when I got back from the holiday I had at the beginning of Feb I decided to wait and see what happened with Corona before booking, very pleased I did - same reason I havent booked a summer holiday - not at all sure I will be getting one in this country never mind abroad but if some travel restrictions are lifted I will stay in the UK this year and book at short notice - or just take day trips from home if getting hotels is a problem
We were due to fly yesterday with Emirates to Male. We have been able to cancel and get a full refund from the airline. Not guaranteeing success as all tickets have different conditions but my wife was on the phone/ email and got a refund. if you need any help drop me a note.
