I stopped going to the gym 10 days ago, not only are they breeding grounds for germs but strenuous exercise lowers your immune system. Sticking to walking for now!

Can germs enter through open pores and multiply on stale sweat?

And I think more families live as a multi-generational group in a single household too......

Sorry thats ******. Challenging your respiratory system with cardio exercise is exactly how the develop an immunity to this particular virus. Im smashing the gym (with my anti bac hand gel) more than ever.

The population of Italy is smaller than the UK (60m vs 66m), and the country is larger (Uk - 242000km2, Italy 301000km2). So that bit about how many live there for a small country is balls.

Could the Mediterranean climate be a factor?

Higher temperatures does appear to kill the virus quicker outside, but a big chunk of Italy is mountainous and still cold. It could be a factor.

The babes on Babestation are buzzing with the self isolation. They've put their call prices up.

In what way? The worst affected parts of italy are currently in the north where it's hardly year round sunshine (many regions mountainous and bordering the alps too). They are just coming out of winter too like us so it's not been hot for a while (it's not hot now either). There has been a suggestion that countries with a sub tropical or tropical year round climate are less susceptible because of said climate: no idea? The countries round the med will however be "getting warmer" come May and will then experience 6 months or so of hot temperatures.
Will or do high temps stifle the virus? Over to you....

Yes there is some evidence that too much intense exercise can lower immunity - but we are talking about intense sessions of over 90 minutes on a daily basis. Marathon runners, and ultra triathletes can be vulnerable to colds and flu after training. However 30 minutes on an exercise bike that gets your heart rate up to 80% maximum plus strength exercises: dumbbells, bodyweight, and the old Bullworker can only do good. You also need to schedule rest days as well.
