No the paddock when I was a lad was the west stand and also I think it was called the terrace on some tickets. The brewery side is now east stand as the old Barnsley Bitter Brewery was at back of it (still is I think but a different format ) Spion kop I think means big hill in Africaans and indeed there was a battle named after a spion kop in the boer war and I think Liverpool’s was the first as I believe it was a Liverpool regiment involved but could be wrong .
