Just this. I complained about this to the club after Everton pre season. Yes 5 months ago It's only got worse. Can't hear any pre match stuff, team announcements, half time stuff & certainly couldn't hear anything about the minutes silence. It's an absolute joke. Half time draw shouts come a standard during minutes silence last few years. Surely the bloke in ponty knows what's going on during remembrance games
i listened to the bugler via BarnsleyWorld and it was a beautiful thing to experience. I thought that he must be playing a cornet or something because his notes were so distinct and constant. I reckon he was a champions league bugler and we are lucky that he is 'one of our own'. And he is from Worsbro Brass Band? where do they practice? Well done that man. and the Club. and Patrick. and everybody who made Patrick proud today. (good innit?)
Yes, very poor, let them get away with many bad tackles without getting the yellow card out and the one he did give was the wrong colour. Also I thought we should have had a pen when Hourahane chased a ball but was blatantly body-checked by a defender, without that, he had a chance of getting the ball before the keeper. Nailed on pen for me.
Are you referring to the Scowen incident re wrong colour card, cos that looked like a 50:50 challenge from east stand but I haven't seen the highlights yet.
If our script involved it saying the minute silence would start with the ref blowing his whilstle and the ref ignoring what was said and doing his own thing, then yes the club script was followed to brilliantly.
His name is John Hopkinson and he's a thoroughly good bloke who plays with Worsbrough Brass. Can't thank him enough. The supporters were a class act yesterday too, from that moment of reflection to the support for Patrick. Proud to be a Red.
Last Post followed by silence followed by a whistle to end the moment of reflection. That was the plan and that's how it happened. If the announcement was different then you have our sincere apologies and I hope this didn't ruin your day. Once again, many thanks to everyone who respected the fallen and to the fans who paid tribute to Mr Cryne.
Agreed. He was note perfect throughout, unlike the old boy at the England v Scotland game who didn't have enough puff.
