Not really linked to this thread but I couldn’t be arsed starting a new one. Why do some people care so much about how people look? There was a guy near me who, every time the Hudd’s lad who had dreads pinned tightly to his head touched the ball, would shout ‘get a hair cut’. Every single time. The lad’s hair looked really smart actually and dreads are a strong part of some people’s culture. It’s the same with McGeehan’s hair, or Bahre’s tasche or players wearing gloves, or players wearing skinny or ripped jeans in their own time. Why do people care and feel it’s worth shouting abuse about or even commenting on? One of my favourite things about moving away from Barnsley for uni was getting away from people who think everyone has to look the exact same. No one gives a crap what people want to wear or have their hair like here.
I reckon Radlinger has had most of the personal stick this year, I mean yesterday when he took a long goal kick a significant amount of the crowd sarcastically cheered yesterday which really bothered me. He’s been told just like the Centre backs to play the ball out from The back on goal kicks.
Was that their number 7? I sort of understand making comments to an opposition player to try to unsettle them but there has to be a limit to it. Why it particularly bothers anyone what someone else looks like or wears though I'll never understand. It's fine to have an opinion that you don't like how something looks (like Bahre's tache) but that's your personal opinion only and doesn't need to be shared with everyone in a way to insult or embarrass him.
They haven't been told to do it EVERY time though as they do t do it every time so the times the do or dont do it are their personal choices unless Struber is giving a coded signal from the bench every time they touch the ball.
I've reported a couple of incidents this year. I've emailed the club. Mentioned it to stewards. No reply from the club and nothing positive from any stewards on the day - so I've given up. Nudger went as far as to say that I've made it up. Yesterday was shocking where I was sat - I sit East Stand Lower near the away end. Because it was a local Derby, it was busier than usual in that end gangway with a few once a year racists, sorry I mean fans. Campbell and Kachunga were absolute moaning gets yesterday, but the dogs abuse they got was abhorrent. I wasn't gonna mention it on here today, but this thread made me think why not. As for the stick Diaby gets? It's because he's ****.
No it’s not personal choices. They clearly get told to play from the back. Unless the opposition have two players at the end of the 18 yard line ready to press then we have no option but to go long. Do you really think we have two Centre backs in the box on goal kicks by choice? The coach has definitely told them to play from there. Not that I have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is some idiots cheering when the keeper goes long! He’s a Barnsley player, get behind him.
I think you misunderstand. He tells them to come short to give the OPTION of a short call. Of course it's their choices whether to do so each time or not. Otherwise give me an explanation as to why I saw the three of them all complete long balls yesterday.
