That's not the basis for a rational decision, one way or the other.

People have to decide what is acceptable and desirable in terms of a finishing position in the league and if those targets are not being met then what should happen.

    a) If it's above the bottom 3 then he's still doing the job albeit with a worrying slump in form.
    b) If it's to finish a few places higher than last season then we are struggling.
    c) If it's to finish halfway then it's extermely unlikely.

Im not sure a) is a sacking offence, at least not at the moment. b) is still possible and c) is unlikely and sackable.

These are my own opinions and not based on any inside information or what the neighbour's cousin's cat told me!!!!!

Hill has no allegiance to the club and it would "appear" that we waited for his appointment due to him being interested in the Blades job.

A Rochdale fan has been on saying what many have posted on here about Hill with his abrasive manner towards criticism and the fans - if he is that thin skinned then he is definitely in the wrong job.

Like Davey before him (with his faith in Odejayi) Hill is showing too much faith in players that have not got the quality for the step up to Championship football.

Hill gives off negative vibes that not only irritate the supporters but must get in the mindset of the players.

His reluctance to play Hassell in a non-existent defence is one of the worst managerial decisions for a long time.

The board and Cryne cannot be held above criticism as the club has a mindset that does not fit the modern game.

The takeover needs to happen but I personally feel it will only happen when we are on our knees in the bottom 3 - buy the club as cheaply as possible.

If the takeover happens sooner then I don't think Hill would survive it.

I have voted for 2 more games as I see the Owls game as the night of the long knives - one or other of the managers will be out at the end of the game.

I'm a shameless Keith fan, I like the guy and for me he's the type of manager I would like. Someone who sticks up for his own players and can accept that people make mistakes.

However, like a lot of people I have been leaving Oakwell dejected recently and really falling out of love with Barnsley. I don't think it's all down to Keith and Barnsley though - it's football in general. We really need to look at the Bundesliga for inspiration.

I don't think the club will benefit from changing managers again - even if we sacked Keith, got a new manager and stayed up on the last day by the skin of our teeth. We need to admit what this club is and what it isn't. If we went down with Keith at the helm, I think we'd come straight back up again and we'd come back stronger for it. If we stayed up by changing our strategy (e.g. spending more than we've got) then I think we'll just steadily decline until we go out of business.

I'm not happy to watch us go down, but sometimes going down can be a catalyst for change in a positive way. Just look at Norwich, Southampton etc.

With a side that had just been promoted. Wiseman and Done would run that league now.

Wish I had a pound for every fan I`ve heard or read saying their team will come straight back up after being relegated into that division.

I'd make the change now based upon the second half of last season (that has started early) and the fact the our team is now is made up of four loan players suggesting that our squad isn't up to scratch.

January will bring yet more changes to the squad that could see half the first team leave. We need a settled team this was part of the criteria at the start of the season, my opinion is about our club surviving another season in the Championship and giving me optimism that we can compete against all teams in this league next season!

He's been reasonably successful with rochdale but he never got them promoted to the championship did he. From your statement then you'd be happy with lge 1 footy from next season onwards under Hill then? cos i wouldn't. If we go down we'll stay down this time and not for just a couple of seasons, we need to stay up whatever for me.

Lol! come straight back up indeed! a pint of what this gentleman is drinking please.....not a fookin hope in hell if we go down are we coming straight back up. Not without major investment in the side. Look at donny, not that many players in their side who have played lge 1 footy most of their careers, mainly championship which is why they will come straight back up and we won't if we go down. Thats the reality of the situation im afraid!

You've missed my main point - we can't just spend money we haven't got and stay up. It isn't sustainable and when PC is no longer around we'll all be asking who's fault it is that we ended up in admin and forcing to shut down. It's our fault as much as anyone elses by demanding that we spend money, put the club under financial strain and "do anything it takes" to stay up. We need to become sustainable by developing players and that is something Keith Hill has a very good track record in.
