not got anywhere near 8 figures, but there was almost 7 figures in my pension. had a few years working for an american tech company on stupid money where they matched up to 15%.

Down over 10% over the last week or so. Was previously up 10% in the last year though, so i’m back to where i was a year ago more or less.

If I won the lottery I always said I'd buy Barnsley, but think that would probably take a few years off my life though in reality!

Even Euromillions probably wouldn’t be enough these days.

I’d imagine it’d cost 30-40 million at least to buy out the current owners and then 5-6 million a year at least ongoing.

    Not for me at all.

The orange psychopath is threatening China with a further 50% tariff if they don't withdraw their actually reciprocal 34% tariff on US.

I think they'll laugh in his face and call his bluff.

Sincerely hope the Chinese stick two fingers up at him. What an utter vile human being, if you can even call him a human. I've said several times now that it's such a shame that assassination attempt on him was unsuccessful.

Latest comments from the ******* moron:

Trump now says the US is "making tremendous progress with a lot of countries" over tariffs.

The countries that "really took advantage of us are now saying please negotiate", he tells reporters.

This is the "only chance" they have to reset trade, and they will come out "unbelievably well".

Trump adds that it will help reopen factories in America and strengthen their economy.

"We're not taking care of our enemies anymore but we do take care of our friends."

He’s only been in a few weeks and already I’m cheering on China. A few more weeks of unrest and I’ll have a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket.

I hope china doesn’t back down with their tariffs It will affect us eventually but once it starts hitting Trumps rednecks in the pocket it will be the end of his insane plan.

    I'm down a LOT.
And I'm down a lot of money too.

Massive drop in my ISA. Wednesday-esque.
Massive drops in my two SIPPs. The main one especially.

I was pondering retirement last August. Took one final job for hopefully no more than a year, but I reckon this last 12 days have set me back at least a year, possibly two.

    Very dischuffed, very fed up.

I've not liked your post cos I'm glad you've been hit, I'm liking your post cos I sympathise. Trump, as a single individual, is adversely affecting billions of people worldwide and because he's a 'businessman' and MAGAlomaniac he couldn't care less. The guy is damaging people worldwide but he doesn't give a flyer. Nasty piece of work. Anyone defending him, unless they're MAGA isolationists themselves (groups he's still potentially damaging), want their brain circuitry rewiring.

Hopefully some shady cartel or one of those New World Order conspiracy groups will decide he's fecked the wrong groups finances and put a final bullet in him before long.
And I don't care if that offends anyone.......it's for the greater good.

As I get closer to being able to consider retirement, I now check the values of all 5 pension pots I have every week as part of my Friday admin wrap up, and keep the details on a running spreadsheet. Just to see if any are performing much worse than others.

The last year has been pretty good and had me thinking that if it kept up at that rate I am going to be OK and able to start thinking of a finish date in 5 years.

Last 5 weeks have been a roller coaster.

Last week was bad but not as bad as I thought.

    Daren't check this week.

It's just so mad because the idea that the US are being mistreated because they run trade deficits with some countries is financial illiteracy bordering on lunacy. If they buy in a load of clobber from some Asian country but the same country doesn't buy US stuff, that doesn't mean the US is being badly treated, it just means their retailers are choosing to buy from a country that produces them cheaper. Why does no-one in power see that? Madness.

I'd leave that to a pensions advisor, you'll drive yourself nuts for 5 years!
I retired a couple of years ago at 55, fortunately not had to start taking the pension due to the missus' business, was considering dipping in this year, but I'll leave it for now.
A lot will change in your 5 years, who foresaw this carnage 6 months ago.
