Talk of incomings and outgoings but how far were we off realistically last season?

Were what seems a mile away from any promotion challenge as it stands.

New unproven manager, board that are out of there depth, divided fanbase, thread bare weak squad.

There's no spine in the team. Literally every position except DKD aren't nailed down and lots of untested youth in the squad. Needs some serious additions adding and that's not taking into account the people who are going to be sold.

It could all slot into place but its a big month or so coming up. A fire sale of the better players and replacements that are underwhelming wont do much for the feel good factor.

Seems to happen like this every season but on a worse level. The board need to have a long hard look at themselves. Something as simple as a good pre season for fans gets people more interested and excited. Worksop, Harrogate and York just turns most people off.

Hopefully at the end of July were all sat feeling optimistic and ready for the season!

I saw an improvement under Conor as early as his second game. I know many will disagree, but I thought we just looked a little more direct. I think by the end of the season, we looked tired, and certainly were carrying a few injuries. I don't think Conor can be judged too much until he's had a fair crack, after a full pre-season with the players.
As the squad is now, it's hard to argue we're much weaker than what we finished the season with, as only Humphry's (seemingly) has left who was a first team regular.

We have such a bloated squad though. I think it's as important to try and move on a few sub standard players as it is to strengthen. Quite a few in the squad for me are at their limit as a mid-table league 1 player, and that will hold us back if it isn't addressed. We're still miles off the season starting though.

In my tiny mind, I will only remember this season for appalling substitutions for the first half coupled with unbelievable individual defensive mistakes such as short back passes, blind back passes and trying to shield the ball out unsuccessfully.
