Has never looked a natural centre haif to me more of a converted midfielder, looks fine coming forward plays some pinpoint diagonals and has a goal or two in him at set pieces. Does however play some strange square balls across the front of his own box that get picked off easily and does tend at times to think he is invincible when on the ball which some times see him robbed and our defence under pressure.

He does look elegant on the ball when given time on it, but seen many of those players in my time fail the higher they go.

He has become a better player with us , so there is scope for further improvement.

In fairness mate it will have been on the SMB (Readytogo) and I wouldn't read too much into it. A fair amount of posters on there are going mental about the smallest things this pre-season / start to the season (as it's been a bit ****). I'd say a fair amount will have been getting at the Mawson potential signing as we haven't brought in any proper experienced players yet

Also there's a small minority of the board who think anyone who plays below the PL is a plodder. I'm a member on the SMB and it is nowhere near a true representation of our supporters, also has quite a few members who are wind up merchants / trolls

Most of the better posters are happy with bringing in Mawson, due to his reputation and seeing him a couple of times, as long as we keep hold of Kone which is fair enough as we don't want a brand new partnership at centre half

I should have known better really considering the amount of times I smash my head against my phone I'm frustration with this board.

He can play a fair bit which is why reckon he'll do well. I just can't see him leaving just yet. We're very light in terms of numbers and don't appear to be close to bringing more in. Unless Alfie orchestrates it himself, which would be sad but not out of the question.

Would you rather re-sign Connor Hourinhane or Jordan Henderson? (asking for a friend)

Henderson as I haven't seen anywhere near enough of Hourihane, however if this were realistic we would be in for Hourihane as he'd be cheaper and we'd have to pay him less

I'd be genuinely interested to know why it didn't work out for Hourihane at us and Ipswich, he was signed for both clubs by Keano but ended up released by both

Vito Mannone. We had him on loan from Arsenal, unfortunately.

Ah I didn't know you had in on loan. When he first signed I thought he was awful but he's went on to be quite decent for us, he was key in us getting to the league cup final a couple of seasons back. He did have a really dodgy run form lasting up till we got beat 8-0 away at Southampton then lost his place. He has been pretty good since he got restored as number 1 as we sold Pantillimon, who I didn't rate, to Watford

Vito has just had a bad injury so is going to be out for a while. We have a highly rated young lad called Jordan Pickford who can step in. I think Pickford may end up keeping the number 1 spot even when Vito is back fit.

And that's his lasting legacy in which hell be forever judged on by some Oakwellians and choose whatever else he goes on to achieve.

Ah I can see why he would give you nightmares watching that. However..........

Vito has made a few errors for us, mainly with his kicking. He's been steady away for the most part which has surprised me massively as I was quite sad when we signed him, I expected him to be pretty crap

He's a bit of a fans favourite as well

The link didn't work for me, but it wasn't the Preston one?

I gave up the best seats in the pub in disgust at that Preston game. What an awful evening that was.
