Well as I mentioned, he's delivered a takeover and I've seen that mentioned by the national press positively so I don't think you can say he isn't "doing well from the outside". I think what you mean though is in relation to PR and fan engagement and I can't argue with that. I think we were rather spoilt by Mansford in that respect, although he wasn't everyone's cup of tea. By the way, I suspect we'll see that change now the new board are in place and once January is out of the way. From conversations with the consortium they seem to want to engage with the fan base.
As well as the collapse of the ITV Digital income, when I spoke with John Dennis at Wembley ( v Cardiff in the Cup semi) he said a major contributory factor was our inability to sell players whenever we wanted, because we had done that in the past to keep the Bank happy. When that facility disappeared the Bank started to play hardball and in the end the Board reluctantly called in the Administrators. Most of what has been stated on the thread is based mainly on supposition re- the supposed involvement and actions of JD, Peter Doyle, Patrick Cryne, Ben Mansford, Gauthier etc etc. Until we know the full facts ( if ever we do) to my mind, in all fairness and honesty, it's absolutely pointless in making unsubstantiated statements about anyone's ability, commitment or performance. The new Consortium, Hecky et al must be happy with what's happening " back office" otherwise GG would be given his P45 or encouraged to seek pastures new.
That's wrong and you know it. I like a laugh and a joke 'in the real world' more than most. But I have never deliberately wound you up in the real world - or indeed in this world. And if you think that I go fishing - then that's because you don't know me. What I do - is I throw genuine thoughts on here for discussion- because that's what I thought this message board was for. Now some of those thoughts maybe be perceived as being daft - and if people can explain to me why they think my opinion is wrong - then that's fine by me. But NONE are fishing trips as you put it.
No you have never wound me up. I'm just thinking back to a conversation a long time ago. Never mind. Sorry to have doubted you
IMO - you are being swayed by the general opinion on here. Clearly most of those can't think for themselves. I know you can.
Or maybe they are sympathetic to a man who battled one illness for years and is faced with one he is unable to battle. He made mistakes, of course, he's human, but why deride a man who has a terminal illness and has always tried his best to do right for the football club?
Deride? Behave. I have every sympathy with regards to his illness and I wish him all the best. Honestly I do. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be appraised on a professional level. Just like any other Chairman/owner in football.
I must have missed that. When did you appraise Mr Cryne on a professional level. When did you produce the long and detailed analysis of his time with us. When did you balance the good stuff with the bad stuff. All I have seen from you is we are not playing in the Premier League and he did not finish the ground redevelopment, therefore he was a failure. Nothing about the rescue of the club from Administration, nothing about the money that he put in in subsequent years, nothing about the changed circumstances surrounding the Championship and how hard it is to compete now if you do not have money to burn. Just a simple, we aren't top of the league, so our owner has failed. He has done what he can and I am still at a loss to explain why you cannot credit him at least for that.
I’ve seen you criticise Ganaye before & you’re just repeating the same post. Let me explain, the CEO does the deals, he doesn’t pick the players. We signed at least 2 senior pro’s for every position in the summer with the exception of getting a 4th first team striker in which was Swansea’s fault. He did 16 deals in the summer, that’s not the sign of someone who can’t get deals over the line. You seem to be blaming Ganaye because like most of us you aren’t sure about who’s picking the players behind the scenes.
This reads like an emotional rant to me. Flip your switch back to logic. We don't all have the leisure time (or inclination) to post 2,000 words every time we have a thought. Edit - you're being sneaky with semantics again.
And you are avoiding direct questions again. This isn't just a forum for asking questions you know. In order to retain any credibility, you ought to answer the odd one as well.
Why are you so unwilling to give Mr Cryne any credit for saving the club and then continuing to invest in it over the last 15 years?
