You've hit the nail on the head WW. The speculation is all very one sided and biased. Because of DS's engaging personality and his attachment to the fans (unique in every respect) he was loved so much that he became a real hero in the eyes of many. a guy who could do no wrong. This has clouded whatever has gone on behind the scenes....(and we still dont know what has gone on) and created the shitstorm that it now is.......on here .....but not necessarily amongst the broader fanbase.
I'm really not that interested in dressing room spats, what may or may not have happened, etc. I am bothered about how the fans of this club have been treated in terms of communication & the lack of experience we started the season with. In Struber's pre match interview he mentions experience at least 3 times. It is partially about Bahre, but there is clearly a message there. DS has gone to all intents & purposes, despite being on "gardening leave". I can understand the club trying to profit from this to save a relatively small amount of money on paying him off, but in the long term more damage has been done to the fan base, who keep this club alive. Conway was all about the fans last year when things were going well. He is some Lord Lucan figure these days. Struber looks a good appointment, i just think the handling of the whole thing is crass.
Things that are kept secret from barnsley fans by the board, how many season tickets we sell, how much we sell players for, how much we buy players for, why daniel stendel was sacked, will we ever find out the answers? Dont hold your breath.
Gets boring all of this. Players and Managers come and go, and there’s always a reason behind it. I’m a Barnsley Fan, and I’m only concerned about the club. Right now, we do appear more organised and better shaped in recent games. We also looked more resolute under Murray too. Mistakes are mistakes, and these can eventually be minimised, but the general performances have been there, and apart from Preston and Luton games, we’ve never looked outclassed - but all teams have bad results now and again. Read into this what you will.......
No I’m not. They told us what their plan was, and have stuck to it. Slightly annoying with the lack of experience, but they’ve done what they’ve said. We’re pretty healthy financially, and they have made improvements to the matchday experience and also season ticket setup. Stendel - we don’t know the full truth. Might have been handled differently, but at some point you’ve got to trust them. Results were poor, and that post match interview on iFollow after Preston - Stendel looked like he had the famous ‘fish eyes’. He was a beaten man...... If we stay up this season, even on goal difference, then it’s job done.
?? Goal difference compared to our rivals. As a team we have no issue scoring - it’s the mistakes in defence. I think we’ll claw some back in the 2nd half of season though.
We’re not even half way through the season yet. Like I said, we’re capable of improving it. I think we’ll still be a minus, but we can improve it.
