So can someone explain to me how journalists are invincible?

It's pointless, he's being deliberately obtuse. Walk away.

Yes, deliberately obtuse because I ask why the 10-12 directors are unsafe to be in the stand but the journalists are safe to be there when the stand is condemned by the club due to structural issues. What an obtuse thing to ask.

On another obtuse and totally ridiculous point the west stand upper tier is a totally different structure to the west stand lower tier, they just happen to be near each other. Strange how they have BOTH suddenly got structural issues isn't it.

Well, this will be my final input on this ridiculous thread, but there is a huge difference between over 1000 people moving in and around the stand and a few journos sitting down and doing their job.

And, if the top tier collapses on the bottom tier, I'd say that's a structural issue that affects the bottom tier.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

1000 directors is a big improvement. We should easily have enough cash to improve the stand now. Cracking result

As much as I dislike schopp I think that planning on flattening him with a stand is harsh. Glad the invincible journos won't get flattened though like someone in the lower tier would. Lucky ********

My guess is this, I believe (but could be wrong) there is an obligation from each club to provide suitable press facilities and perhaps it is too difficult/not cost effective to create a dedicated area.

Maybe obvious flaws in that thought process and I know it doesn’t answer your OP.

I suspect the real truth lies that there’s just not really enough stewards and it costs too much to open on a Matchday - the same reason they closed the North side of it. It does make sense from a business point of view.

Yes there might be a few structural issues, but I’d guess this isn’t the main reason - hence why the media are allowed to stay. If it wasn’t safe at all, the media would have to be moved.

The TV gantry and stairs etc were strengthened and renewed the other year. So that’s solid.

They should have called it in the summer - that’s the real issue.

Oh, and as for the directors moving - I’m guessing this was done so as not to rattle fans. I bet we’ll see the Directors moving back in, in the next months, but still closed to fans…..

So what would the reaction be if the club said no spectators were allowed but the directors would be able to stay in the West Stand.

I’d surmise (and I have no idea) that the club could possibly have got a safety sign off for the directors, but it would have gone down as well as Therese Coffey’s karaoke

Don’t forget it’s officials from the home and away team, so for some clubs, it can be a larger number.

But I agree - the Directors were moved as well, to appease fans. As I’ve posted above - I can see the Directors moving back in within a month or so.

To be fair when Sky have covered matches a portacabin is brought in between the Ponty & the West & surely if there were any serious safety concerns about the west stand then this is a measure that could be used for the press .

They ought to get Dianne Abbott to do the head count and just let everyone back in as normal. Then just declare 10.

    That’s right.
When the country has one of the worst hit economies from Covid and highest death rates.
When we’re taking £20 a week from the most vulnerable in society (immediately damaging the economy by a greater amount, and with a social fallout that’ll cost maybe 10x more) … the MP that immediately springs to mind about counting is someone who made a mistake in an interview god knows how many years ago.

There’s no wonder the country is in the state it’s in. Any ridiculous narrative put forward by the Tory press is eagerly swallowed by the unthinking masses.

I appreciate it was ‘a joke’.

using Priti Patel would have been exactly the same joke.

So back to my point about the unthinking swallowing a fed narrative.

BTW I’m looking forward to a fun weekend ‘having the time of my life’.

    See ‘joke’. :p

I wittled it down to her. I started off with Carol Vorderman, Rachael Riley and the blowk who invented the abacus. Then realised my initial list would have rendered my light hearted, jovial retort extremely redundant.

So therefore it was a toss up between Di and our Wayne who never bothered with school so can't add up but nobody would have heard of him.
