Smokers also put the health of non-smokers at risk. Passive smoking.

Why would it be every pub smoking? according to you lot ....

........ everybody is against it so therefore the landlords would only be happy to please the majority no doubt!

PS. Who mentioned resteraunts? My local has a sealed off room used for darts. Most people who use that room smoke and those who don't smoke have no objections to those that do. Oh and the landlord is a smoker, as is 80% of the customers - but we all go outside instead - load of B*ll*cks

Why do Smokers stop going to pubs just because they can’t give non smokers lung cancer any more. Get over it. Its proved that passive smoking is just as bad as actually smoking and shy should I put up with it as a non smoker.

If people need a smoke go outside for 5 mins, it’s that simple. And hardly a reason to supposedly kill the pub trade because lhe lazy smokers can’t be bothered walking outside for a few mins. What’s the problem.

How about the fact you don’t go into pubs is because you pay stupid money for 20 things which are killing you.

Stop buying a 20 pack a day which must cost around about £5.30 and you can afford to go to the pub more often if it’s the price you have a problem with.

    Its an horrible pointless happit.

    Wrong

passive smoking isn't as bad as smoking ,now I haven't done any reasearch on this but I bet I'm right.

tabbaco is a natural substance, there are far more man made chemicals floating around in the air that will cause you alot more harm.

    I spent £5 a week on bacci.

however I can sympathize with you about not wanting to be around smokers in enclosed spaces, because of the smell and the slightest of chance you might inhale a tiny bit.

Did the airline industry collapse when smoking was banned on flights?

People will happily not smoke for several hours while on a plane, but they have stopped going to the pub because they have to go outside every half an hour for a cig?

I think expensive pubs + cheap supermarket beer is as much to blame.

I'm not sure I would put the slump down to the smoking ban alone

I used to be a big pub drinker, now I prefer to go out for a meal. I can buy a bottle of wine from Morrisons for the price I pay for one large glass in the pub.

I think it's fair to say that more people are opting to go out for meals nowadays and choosing to get pissed in the comfort of their own homes.

This government has done a lot of damage

by passing this law, they are killing off many pubs, clubs bingo halls and the like. If food is being served then I am all for a ban in that area. But if people want to have a quiet pint and a smoke after a hard day at work then they should be free to do so. Blair/Browne and their do gooding mates should bugger off and declare war on somether poor sod and leave us alone to spend our last few years sitting peacefully having a drink and enjoying a smoke. :'(
