Which rule are we tweaking tomorrow. The game is being ruined by idiots who live in a utopian world. Nothing is perfect including football and that's what makes sport exciting.

I thought that's what VAR was supposed to do, an official flags VAR says yay or nay. But from playing as a kid players know to play to the whistle even without VAR.

I give in to your superior knowledge...I quess your comment re the Most misogynist thread I've ever read.....proves to serve your need to be right shame really because at one time I considered you to be a fair and a considerate poster who added a lot to the forum but over the last 12 months or so I've noticed bitterness and character assassination of posters slowly creeping in to you posts ....sad really....smacks of being self opinionated .....but each to their own .....bye the way if you are looking for an argument....Jog on....

Read my post again. I'll quote it for you if you like, "We both have our opinions. In mine this is THE most misogynist thread I've ever read on this bulletin board. In yours it's not. I don't claim mine is any more worthwhile than yours."

I gave you the benefit of the doubt. You clearly weren't worthy of it.

I agree and to be honest I find it extremely sad the level of internalised misogyny that generation has. Not just referring to OP's mum, but in general.

If the same incident had happened with a male linesman would the OP have even made the thread?

Whatever the circumstances, "pudding burner" is a pretty impressive insult, just due to its complete bizarreness.

It reminds me of the time that Ref Man (Ponty end regulars from the mid-90's onwards will know who I'm talking about!) was as usual going on a tirade at the ref, and he was as usual so angry that he looked as if he was about to explode. As the tirade came to an end, he decided to cap it off with a personal insult, but somehow he just couldn't find the right word. "Ref, yer..... yer..... yer...." Everyone was waiting with baited breath to find out what choice expletive he had in store for the man in black. And then it finally arrived: "yer prat!"

Cue much mirth in the surrounding seats, and a chorus of "the referee's a prat!"

Did the OP come across as a bit sexist? Yeah perhaps. I didn't think this thread would end well.

Is it the most misogynistic thing I've ever read on here? No, not by a country mile. A little OTT, as seems to be the norm at present for Jay. At least you didn't get called a Nazi, Shed :)

To be honest Titus I agree and yet
I've deleted the op although others can easily find the op ...reason......more in respect for my 87 yearold mother..who's actually a member on here .than anything else... seen as a few comments .personally attack her and her generation.......As for Jay's comments and under hand suggestions ...water off a ducks back.i wont be fretting and losing any sleep over it....yes we are all entitled to our opinions...however and unfortunately he and a few others on here just want to be confrontational when it suits them ....and they often take the stance look at me I'm holier than thou.....when in fact if we were to put their own records under the microscope no doubt in the light of day there would be some cringe worth actions that have taken place....non of us are perfect
Yet some are more than happy to suggest and attempt character assassination of people they dont know and therefore take the moral yes moral high ground ....when theres no need...guess it's the times we live in....why folk want to and feel theres a need to be confrontational and also feel theres a need to prove their point as in Jay's comments the "Most " just smacks of shallowness of the self.......whilst I'm not singling jay out as the sole culprit although I'm using him as an example ...far too much of this self opinionated stance is ruining this board.....maybe it's a present generation issue that theres a strong need to be apologetic at the moment for the past wrongs of generations gone by who knows ....wiser men will know better than me....but ...unfortunately
You cant alter history but you can learn by it to build a better future....discrimination of all sorts still exsist
For those taking the high ground
    You know who you are.
    ......maybe just maybe
One should remove the log from your own eyes before attempting to remove the splinter from others
Anyway folks catch you all later
I've other more important things to deal with than worrying over keyboard warriors
Stay warm stay safe be happy....3points tonight will do nicely....have a good day the best you can given the present climate

If VAR has done anything, it has proved beyond doubt that there’s EVERY excuse for missing offside decisions. In fact it demonstrates that loads of what people remember as ‘goals of the century were very possibly offside.

Doesn't matter she flagged, play to the whistle, regardless if it was the wrong decision, they scored and VAR as they did said it was onside then the only people to blame are the WBA players, play to the bloody whistle

Just seen it on MOTD, I'd be raging at the West Brom players if I was Allardyce.

Not that it would have made any difference, really was a stroll in the park. WBA in big trouble, don't know why they sacked Bilic personally.

Tbf the first part may well have been written about either sex. The tale afterwards is what tips it.

It’s called humour. Anyone taking offence. Take a look at yourselves. No one should take it to heart. Mother in law jokes will be banned next. And the most people that find em funny are mother in laws. Pudding burners. Offensive. Yer avin a laugh. Something that’s said in all circles ( IN CONTEXT) be it ladies or gents. The rebuttals just as funny. Why do some find offence in absolutely everything. God help em if they slip up. ( and they will)

As shed said. Much to the merryment of those sat around. His mam made the light hearted comment. Who would admonish her.

I think a lot of people are perhaps picking up on the fact that Sian Massey was told "to get back in the kitchen where you belong". If anyone finds that humorous then I'd argue that they are the ones who should take a look themselves...
