Depends how you view the thread though - I read from the iPhone app, but you can’t even see there’s a poll on that, never mind vote in it.

You have to log in to web view, as I have, and do for the player of the week/season polls

Don’t see it as a sensible option if I’m honest Gally.

All that will happen is that something mildly political will be said on here rather than whatever new forum is set up and folk will jump straight down said persons throat. Bans, hissy fits, good poster’s leaving.

I don’t see the harm in leaving it as it is. If people don’t want to contribute to a given discussion they don’t have to. I like to read and involve myself in the political threads, we are all connected by supporting the same football club but come from various backgrounds with different outlooks. I’ve never seen the bbs as solely something to comment about the football team on, its a lot more than that, and I think it would be a great shame to clip the wings.

What is next? A separate forum for those who like to post what they will be drinking later in the evening? A separate thread for jokes? Movies etc? It’s all done on here, just folk only moan about the politics ones, likely as there is a growing distaste and apathy - but that doesn’t mean it should be banned and moved elsewhere.

I’m sure you’ll win the vote though.

Spot on. The variety of stuff discussed on here is one of the forum's strengths. That's how it's always been, going right back to the old email list in the mid-90s and through all incarnations of this BBS. Change that and it'll be poorer for it.

I agree with you - I also find its often quite easy to tell threads to avoid if you arent interested in them by the title - for example threads called Labour Party conference, that have referendum or prorogation in the title are probably not about football

With no political and or other threads than football they could linger on first page for weeks and months covering CEOs every move and how they are fooooking killing his club .

I don't see how having them on a different forum is any different to just not opening the political threads in the first place?

I'd leave it as is, personally. I mean, virtually every "political" post on here is made obvious what the content is with the title, so if you don't want to read political posts then just don't click it. And even if one with a neutral title does get posted, it's only an extra button click on the "back" button to come out of it.

Agreed. What with politics forums and matchplay threads there'll soon be nothing left.

Snow flakes ... If you don't want to debate... Politics or any other subject... Don't click on the thread to open it... Simples.... Or what... Or does everybody want their backsides wiping these days... The vast range of subjects that we discuss on here makes the board unique.. Best idea open up a new forum for those who just type abuse when the teddy bear gets chucked out of the pram..
    Just my opinion
