I can only speculate that should that be the case then on production of this years season ticket a reduction on the price of next season’s ticket would apply. Then again football clubs might think differently.
Can't cancel the season, without being able to prove that all possible attempts have been made at completing the season. Authorities should be using this break to come up with various plans, working back from the end of next season, to figure out what the latest date is that play can resume. If that date isn't met, the season can be scrapped, with less risk of legal challenges
One way to stop clubs folding would be more scrutiny on whether the clubs had internal funds to secure the length of the players contracts. For example if you sign a player on a three year deal if you have the funds to pay that player for three years when you sign them. I suspect a lot of clubs don't.
Not sure its a Jobsworth to want that - I like most other Season Ticket Holders paid to go and see 23 game - only 19 have taken place so there has to be some compensation if the season is scrapped Lets face it if you bought 2 dozen eggs and when you opened the box there were 4 missing you would want some money back or the missing 4 eggs I think they need to find a way to play the rest of this season - even if it means delaying the start of next season - its the only fair way to do it
How much would it cost the club to pay back the cost of four season ticket matches. Would it be less than the money lost by relegation?
I am sat with one of each now and guess what they think that if the season should not continue then currentt standings should count and they would be promoted.
by a long way - dont we reckon on £6million drop if relegated in the last report the total machday income - Season ticket and individual tickets combined was just over 3 million )(3.6 million last championship season) so assuming match day income this season was going to be back around 3.6 Million and it was all Season tickets the club would only need to pay back around 4/23rds of it ie 1 million - but it would be significantly less than that - I'd guess around 700K tops
So if you're Dame Edna sat at home right now. Are you hoping the league is suspended indefinitely and we stay up and shell out 700k?
Not a season ticket holder so don’t know, but would t&c not safeguard them from refunds in terms of a force majeur? Edit: Of course it would do them no harm at all to refund in terms of good Will.
But then there's also the chance of sponsorship money having to be returned, and even worse, TV money.
I think cancelling the season would be the worst option and most unfair overall. 78% of the season has already been played. If the rest of the games cannot be fulfilled by an acceptable date then either: Accept current positions as final Or Delay the start of next season
