I mean, across those fixtures, we're unbeaten on actual good Friday. We've only won 1 as well like but still. A draw looks a reasonable bet.
Well, seeing as I am on a decent roll, even the predicted scorers are starting to fall into place. 1 - 4 Reds Cole, Kane, Philips, L Thomas.
Sorry, but we beat Shrewsbury 2-1 in 2019 at home. We were away at Plymouth on Easter Monday and won 3-0.
Burton will have a big say in things with us, Wednesday(H), Bolton(H), Plymouth(A) and Derby(A) still to play. I think we're back on track after the Exeter hiccup and I'll take us to overcome the difficult pitch and rookie ref and get a 3-1 win.
Referee, Adam Herczeg's first season in L1/L2, having had 2 seasons at National League level. He likes a yellow, 4 or 5 in a game isn't unusual, tho he's only issued 1 red card this season. He reffed our 3-1 win at Oakwell against Charlton, where strangely he issued no cards, the only game he's been card free this season. He's been in charge of Burton twice, their 2-0 home win against Oxford and their 4-2 efl trophy win against Leics kids, the game in which he issued his only red card against Burton's Castro, who is now out on loan to Gateshead. His most high profile game was probably the NL play off match last year between Wrexham and Grimsby, which Grimsby won 5-4, with Herczeg controversially disallowing a Wrexham goal and a penalty. Suffice to say Wrexhams Phil Parkinson wasn't impressed..... Speaking to the club media after the game, Parkinson said: “How the league put that referee in charge of that game is absolutely beyond me. I’m seething. Congratulations to Grimsby, well done and good luck in the final, but his performance was so far below the level accepted for a game of this magnitude it was incredible. “If you look at the play-offs in the league, they go for top referees above the standard he’s refereeing, we had this referee two weeks ago- how he’s been put in charge of this game I’m absolutely gobsmacked. His performance was beyond belief. We’ve scored a goal which didn’t stand, we’ve had a player fouled before their first goal, we’ve had Bryce [Hosannah] clattered in the middle of the goal which should have been a penalty. I haven’t seen any of these incidents back but dear me that performance was poor.”
