No matter where we are and how desperate we are I’ll be turning up at this match to applaud and thank the man who gave us such a special season last year. It will be the first opportunity I’ve had to personally see Val in a Barnsley dugout. I may then walk out again after 5 minutes so the football doesn’t spoil my Friday night/ Saturday afternoon, but I’ll be there for kick off regardless.
The club has a fair point about the money though. If it costs £500k to play in the 2 games, then whilst you could put it down as a calculated gamble, it’s a lot of money for a tight run ship. Most other clubs run like ours would also moan about it too. The EFL and FA have enough money in the coffers to make additional bonus payments to all 4 clubs.
That's not very good for us long distance ST holders. Sunday lunch time I can cope with but not the M1 on a Friday afternoon. If it is on Sky I will watch it on Sky. Fortuneatly the way thing are at present we will not be troubling the TV cameras much next season.

Cost us more than that appointing a joker from Austrias 2nd tier then paying him off. And if we go down we will lose 6million.
My Google Calendar has been updated to show this to be on the Friday. The same source as the Sheffield United match change.
