Depending on who is here next season, I would be building the team around Bland, Russell needs the freedom to pay but also needs someone who can actually win a ball and is like a Jack Russell (no pun intended)
Really liked the performance of Bland playing in his preferred position, positive and assured on the ball and looks to have a old head on him certainly something to work with next season.
I see him in a similar light but he's got the job and we have to let him get on with it, hopefully he can back up the chat so that we can all enjoy next season. It's going to be a big summer for him and he's already under pressure for us to get off to a decent start but today's win was a great one and will have given him a massive boost for the summer.
I’m in North Wales for a long weekend and didn’t expect to see any of the match, and I wasn’t really bothered. However, on the way back to the hotel I checked the sky page on the phone and found we were on Sky+. I got back in time for the start of the second half and settled down to watch, expecting nothing. Wow, what a second half that was!! Four superb goals and should have been five. Exceptional performance in front of a fired up crowd. Where has this team been just lately? It’s easy to get over excited about that but we all know there have to be some big changes this summer. I think we’ve got the right man in Conor to really lift the club again, providing he gets the support. Let’s hope he does.
First night over the border near Chester but then moved to a beach front hotel in Prestatyn. Going home Monday and I’m praying it’s not the horrific journey over here. From near York to Chester - nearly four hours! Served us right for travelling bank holiday weekend I suppose. Very impressed with both hotels though and we had a nice trip out today to Deganwy, just over the water from Conwy. What’s all this ludicrous 20mph limit everywhere around towns though? It’s very hard to drive at that speed!
You get used to it very quickly. Large areas around here are 20mph and I quite enjoy it now. It takes no more thinking about than 30mph once you’re used to it and it’s far safer (someone hit at 30mph are five times more likely to die than if hit at 20mph).
Glad you're having a good time - Prestatyn/Rhyl pleasant places with excellent beaches. (I'm more familiar with Bangor/Anglesey - was a student there.) 20 mph not popular and takes some getting used to - I think it's under review at the Senedd.
We had a week in North Wales last year. Whilst I found some of the stretches of road where it was 20mph to be ludicrous, I didn't mind the concept in the end as a holiday maker, as we were in no rush to go anywhere. You need the speed limiter on though as it's hard to stick to that speed without constant staring at the clock or mechanical intervention in the form of the speed limiter. But I guess it must be much more frustrating for the locals when they need to actually get somewhere.
We’re heading towards Bangor tomorrow to visit a NT property - Penrhyn Castle. Just had a lovely meal at the hotel and sitting outside now to get some good pics of what promises to be a spectacular sunset
It’s the inappropriate-ness of it in some places that annoys me where you’re asked to do 20 not in a built up area and even 30 on a dual carriageway. If there are cameras everywhere they must sting thousands of motorists, especially in the summer.
Yeah the Play off challenging teams, have been poor and inconsistent in the last qtr of the season. But we haven't taken advantage of it at all, and the best we can say, is we've at least hung onto 12th in the end.
