    I think he is too. I could never understand why Mawson got all the praise.

    I love Roberts but Mawson could well end up playing for England, Roberts won't.

    Mawson also scores 7 or 8 goals a season at least. Thats gonna take some replacing for a start.....

    Completely different players and hard to say which is better.

    Roberts is better in the air, probably better in the tackle and got that long throw.
    Mawson has much better distribution, probably reads the game better, is two footed and is less mistake prone.

    If the choice was between having two Mawsons at the back or two Roberts, I'd go for two Mawsons.

    I think it's more to do with him been a hard man type defender who wins headers & makes big tackles.

    Loads loved M'Voto even though he was almost giving away a goal or a penalty a game during his first couple of months in the teams

    I think we would miss Roberts more. If Roberts went who would win all those 50-50 headers. Not sure I have seen him make too many mistakes either

    up until December last year Mawson was ***** in league 1. He was making mistake after mistake and loads on here were calling for him to be dropped. Wasn't until he was dropped from captain and partnered with long and Roberts he started looking like the player we had supposedly signed.

    5m for s player who has had a good 6 months in league 1 and a few decent champ games is superb business.

    You're right

    However, I have to despite my saying Roberts was the better, the were a terrific partnership. The best since mccarthy and Evans.
