    Reinforces how the years keep rolling on, he was an excellent broadcaster and covered a lot of local football in our area for a period of time. Never saw him play but his record and the way he is held in high esteem speak volumes about him.

    Miss the banter with Jimmy Greaves, memories of simpler times for football. RIP.

    Read somewhere that Shankly said signing of St John and another player was the key to the start of Liverpool’s successful times.
