I’ve not got a problem with it tbh, looks like Judge was looking for a pen to me. It then appears he got up like a spoilt brat giving it some ‘mouth’ in an aggressive way to the ref who instead of backing away called the players bluff.
Wasn't there a ref in a game in Europe a couple of seasons ago who collided with a player then stuck his leg out to trip the player up? Proceeded to then book the player he had tripped.
Be interesting if when a player makes a mistake in a game the ref charged after them calling them all the names under the sun
https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/drysdale-apologises-to-ipswich-town-7391960 He's said sorry when he should have sent himself off.
I refereed for about 15 years in local football and only recall 1 colleague retaliating. He was suspended, and if memory serves me right he decided to call it a day after that. He was well on his way up the ladder as well. The closest I came to reacting badly was not on the pitch but in Tarn at night. This guy who I had sent off in a recent came put his face in mine shouting ‘there aren’t half some **** refs about’ I immediately shouted back, not nearly as many as they’re are **** players. I just stood my ground and he simply walked away.
Wow! Surprised at the reactions on here. I suspect there wouldn't be such support if that had happened to a Barnsley player. Drysdale is absolutely out of order and I was just about to say he should be kicked out of the professional game but then I saw his response to Ipswich Town. He can't do much more than he has in acknowledging he was in the wrong and apologizing to the player and the Club. He deserves credit for that. I'd accept his apology, recognise we all make mistakes and leave it at that.
Once running the line fo mi dad, those fields to the left of Wath Hump, bloke threatened me if I put the flag up against him one more time he'd kick mi head in. I alreight flag went up every time the ball came near him, he was not an happy bunny.
Shame that, Barry would have gone a lot further than he did. I spoke to him not long after, he was clearly gutted.
Who was the referee that would allow you to kick lumps out of each other but would send you off for swearing?
It’s just come to me...Don Mellor, he once sent one of our lads while we were warming up, when he heard him say that he got “ballaxed in town last night”
