I wonder what would happen if they got to say QF or SF, would they be staying away, somehow I don't think they would
We really were awful first half. If Millers had been 3 up it would’ve been justified. Unrecognisable second half though, thought we played some great stuff. Still don’t know what to expect for the season though, we’re just so easy to carve open at the back.
Sheff Wensdy, or Donny, or Hudds, or Bradford.. they would all be interesting 3rd round ties. But we'll probably get Lincoln or Port Vale etc!.
We don't look very good when we slow it down & pass between centre halves & midfield. We look good when we get it wide, quick and go direct. I'd like more of that. Farrugia catalyst imho for the result, but special mentions to Bland who was best player on the pitch & Conor Barratt who I thought did well too. Reds.
Maybe the duct tape holding the roof on the North Stand has started coming loose, so people are understandably a bit fearful for their personal safety?
Agree - I think the issue is that we need to switch the ball a lot quicker from one wing to the other if it is too crowded to make progress. What we seem to do is just ponderously knock it around the back which scares me given the characters in our back 4
Game of two halves, Rotherham were decent first half. We was decent going forward in the second half. Defensively, far too many mistakes by the usual suspects. If we were up against a half decent side we’d have lost that 2-7. Bland is a brilliant little player, was unlucky when he hit the post too. Nice to win, good for confidence but in reality I’d rather us not be in this competition. Winning breeds winning though eh?
Agree. I'd much rather we were playing some percentages and knocking behind the full back than side to side which it feels like we do when we're on top. I will say I thought Earl came on and did really well today - calm and held on to it under real pressure, too.
Imo Conor got it wrong playing 3 at the back in the first half hr. MDG was being dragged all over the place. The lad who scored had a quarter of the pitch to himself. Yoganathan playing deep to try cover. Much better when we went to a back 4.
ooh, good call. I was saying Spurs away, for similar reasons, although I was really hoping for Bromley, to take my 91 back to 92 (clubs that is, not grounds)
Yeah that's one of my favourite comments of the night lol. Well done Sir, I do totally agree with that.
Really enjoyed the game and thought the Ponty got behind the team really well all match. Money well spent and whoever it was earlier in this thread (can’t remember) who was taking the Micky out of the singing - please don’t - they were there supporting our team. The players and Conor clearly appreciated it. If you can’t get that’s fair enough but don’t take the …. out those who turned up.
