Not exactly like for like is it? Reading is in the Home Counties, easily commutable to and from London for fans and players, and the surrounding area around Berkshire is pretty affluent. There’s a lot to tap into - plus the stadium is all new and modern too.

Much more attractive a proposition. Especially to someone who used to own another club not twenty miles away.

Pretty much apples and oranges with a club in an old industrial northern town with no industry, with an admittedly traditional football club which is attractive to prospective buyers in its own right - but one who’s supporters who would be deemed affluent number few - and comparatively with those who follow, or may in the future follow Reading, negligible.

We could and would find a buyer if they really wanted to sell - but would it be the right price?

Besides, Neerav Parekh is the majority shareholder. I question how much he trusts and rates some of those he employs, I question whether some decisions made are right - but I don’t question his intentions being right. He’s not here to make money and rinse the club.

Any prospective new owner could be much, much worse. I’ll take well intentioned but a bit naive over asset stripping charlatans any day of the week. Next season, either Sormaz gets things right and we are much more competitive, or Parekh sees the wood for the trees and gets rid. Surely. Hopefully…
