no matter how you dress it up ....

it's all a case of running down the clock, simple as that. Taking time over a dead ball situation or playing the ball safely across the back or into a corner, its all time taking and frustrating for the opposition. As I said ALL teams do it, yes even us..... so let it go .

the only other way to do it is to have an official time keeper like in Rugby

then each time the ball goes 'dead' for injuries, fouls, ball out of play etc ..... then the time keeper can stop/start the clock. its not rocket science is it. This way you get a full 90 minutes of football.

And every teams fans who is on the receiving end of time being wasted boo and shout at the oppositions players so are you saying we shouldn't ,
That's how it works its called being passionate, it's a laugh when we do and a disgrace when they do it . If everything was done in an orderly fashion it would be boring. Like shouting for a penalty when our player had clearly dived all fans do it.

    Teams maybe, Clubs? No.

The players on the pitch did it, maybe with a little encouragement from the coaches/managers but the Clubs? That would have needed prior arrangement between them and would have surely resulted in a 0-0, not a 2-2. Besides which, before the game started, nobody knew what result was required, the game was played to win by both teams until the last few minutes when other scores became known.

It's happened before and it'll happen again. Particularly in the modern age of instant communication. Impossible to keep the players from knowing what's going on elsewhere.

How could it be match fixing.?
Posh and palace were still playing after our final whistle had gone if posh had scored a draw was no good for us.
Remember the Boro match waiting for Ipswich Brighton result.,?

Not on the outcome of this game especially as it could so easily have backfired plus there were no unusual betting patterns which is one of the main sources of evidence.

Why anyone should think that this an acceptable part of the game is beyond me. 12 and a half thousand people turned out to be entertained not sit looking at a man looking at a stationary ball for more than 20 seconds at a time. Neither reading nor ourselves will go up or be in a relegation fight in my opinion so why you'd want to spend the time during the season being bored to tears is beyond me. We had an off day but still tried playing the right way, their winger played well for 15 mins against an injured then a rusty full back. After that any kind of entertainment from reading stopped dead. Which would you rather watch every week

    Agreed!
Why not like basketball , and have, say, 30 MINUTES of REAL TIME played each half?
