Dirty immigrant: 'can I come to England please'? Border control man: 'have you ever sexually abused anyone'? Dirty immigrant: 'no sir, of course not' Border control man: 'great news. On you go' Like that you mean?
No I mean application forms, interviews, something similar to what the adoption agency do, background checks and so on, the same sort of process you'd have go through if you wanted to move to Australia, at one point if you had a criminal record for certain things you couldn't legally enter the USA that's what we should have been doing for years
Sounds sensible. Do we put up taxes to pay for that massive system of bureaucracy? Because you'll have to pay for additional border controls, IT systems, offices etc.
Unfortunately there is none or little, systems in place to properly to control the kind of people entering the UK. My best mate works in this area and tells me horror stories none of us can figure. The govt are spending less not more on said areas and the systems are sadly inadequate now. Less staff, poor control etc. The people on the ground just cant cope. The real problem (I,m told) is illegal immigrants, who can just disappear into the Uk. But yes vetting the people coming in (especially from the eastern European countries) is very difficult, is this a worry to us all? It should be. We also have less crime (we are told), which is why the police have had numbers reduced. I guess its all down to finance and where you want your tax pound spent.
How's about an opt out system though? I'm not that concerned about immigration so I'll not pay owt. You'll have to cover my bit .:Tyke:.
So from the short phrase 'described as having a foreign accent' the issue here is immigration? So much so that people are ready to up pitchforks and rally on the streets? I don't think so. The issue here is that there is a serious allegation of sexual assault. My sympathies are very much with the victim and her family, certainly not with 'us indigenous' Barnsley folk who are supposedly having our lives ruined, not because of the actions of certain individuals, but due to 'all of them lot' and the wider issue of immigration. Harold Shipman was probably Britain's most prolific serial killer. By the logic some are using, we should therefore campaign to extradite all those 'scum' GPs and medical professionals. There are issues with migration/immigration, and anyone who overlooks them is a fool. But this IS NOT the key aspect of this case, or indeed any aspect at all until anyone is found legally guilty. Oh, and while I'm on one, surely use of the term 'curry muncher' with sincerity is worthy of a stretch in the BBS cooler?
You're a maniac. It's the EU. There's freedom of movement. I've just been to Barcelona for a week. Should I have been interviewed for an hour, before I was allowed entry?
Because it's part of the EU, and there's freedom of movement. However, that's not really my point. What border controls could you possibly implement, to stop a man travelling to a country and sexually assaulting someone? Unfortunately, when a terrible crime like this happens, the usual xenophobic bigots cry outrage and decide to get their pitchforks out. Some of the $hite spewed on the WAB Facebook page is just beyond stupid. What I would support, is a debate around certain convicted criminals being refused entry. But not some of the absolute fcukin toss I hear on here and other places..
If you think the way things are now are working you're a Fu'cking idiot. Doesn't matter if you agree or not something needs doing and if it is crime rate would fall
