As a caretaker manager/HC he is certainly the cheap option until the new head coach is in situ or Joe gets promoted to head coach, that is what I wrote the other day and some of the Schopp monies owed may be recouped during this period. The longer Jo Lau is in place as caretaker the more money is recouped until to next HC contract.starts.

Laumann has been here for a while now and will know the players and the positions they play so if they decide to appoint him full time then I have no problems with it

Totally agree & I am not saying we should do , just thought it was interesting looking back over our appointments & also the fact that appointing from within is usually frowned upon at our club by a lot of the fan base however the stats do not lie we have definitely been more successful promoting through the ranks, but its all a gamble & all we all want is for us to get lucky & set the right guy on, hope that happens this time.

I understood Bill Shankly was the manager at Huddersfield before moving to manage liverpool.

I think you’re right. Maybe I was thinking of Bob Paisley, who took over from Shankly?

    I suspect it’s a moot pint after today’s shambles!

Failure to make obvious defensive tweaks after 20 minutes when we were playing well but getting caught on the break was criminal. I'd be on the phone to Warnock first thing in the morning.

It only works if the coach is up to the job to start with.

That's true. Of the ones I quoted, only Hunter was thought to be up to the job when they were appointed at the time they initially took over.

Today there were no redeeming features whatsoever. I can normally point to something even if it’s just an individual performance but we were truly awful today.

Other than Collins and a decent cameo from Styles no player performed

Benson wasn't that great today either, way too powder puff!

I thought our midfield never had a grip on the game at any point after the first 10 mins today. I was hoping that JL could do a tactical tweak to change things but sadly it never came. I can't recall ever seeing us play a team below us where we've been so wide open for so long in the match, Hull must have thought Christmas had come early.
