Prince Harry latest whinge

No opinon this as I’ve got absolutely no knowledge of the ins and outs of their family, therefore my opinion would be utter ********

 

That isn’t really the situation. The decision was taken by a specially appointed expert body, RAVEC. Decisions also upheld by numerous legal proceedings since then. The king has very wisely not intervened as it is well against protocol to do so - in fact it would be constitutionally improper to interfere when both the government and law courts were considering the issue.

Harry saying he was prepared to pay for it is also somewhat a red herring - as this was little more than posturing. If the type of security he sought was available commercially to him it would have to be for others. It’s a specialist service for particular persons only. It requires a high level of U.K. intelligence sharing and so is saved for the very highest profile royals.

He excluded himself from that. He and his family will have need of some security of course - and he was offered and remains offered security funded by the public purse on his visits - but he would be perfectly able to source and provide security for himself more than sufficiently and more than adequate compared to risk. They face no more risk than other high profile politically exposed persons, or even some Hollywood celebrities.

He’s tried to paint it as all he wants is to be safe and he’ll pay for it himself - but that isn’t really the case. He wanted his us security team to be granted U.K. intelligence details or to be granted the identical level of cover as his father and brother, the monarch and monarch in waiting. The best thing is that if he was still here and representing his family he’d get it.

As I’ve said, I don’t think the root cause of any of this is him. He’s maybe a bit narked at always being the spare to the heir and second fiddle. But he does himself no favours and really mirrors the behaviour his wife showed years before they even met. The warnings were given by her own sisters.

There are conspiracy theories that his wife was never pregnant and didn’t give birth to their children - I don’t see how it would matter if they had utilised surrogacy but why lie? What’s to gain? It’s all a bit rich and entitled. Just like the song and dance they made about their kids not being titled from birth - but then insisting they be upgraded to prince and princess on their grandfather’s taking of the throne.

 

I think Troff covered it better than I could but just to add, I never mentioned security, I was referring to his request to be treated as an equal titled royal while saying he doesn't want the job. He's also not backwards at coming forward when cashing in his story with books and interviews, If as he's said it's not for him fine, go away and do something else....
