I still think that early bird prices are very reasonable. However... The time frame for buying them at this price is way too short. The price hike after the early bird is way too much. If it is 7 quid to have the ticket posted or 4 quid to collect it then that is just bizarre, so bizarre that I feel someone is pulling my leg. If so, obviously discount that last point. Single match tickets are ludicrously priced to the point where we appear to be deliberately alienating less dedicated supporters/those that can't make it every week, and putting up insurmountable barriers to any new customers. The whole 'price freeze' thing is just typical Barnsley FC. It's comical. It would have been a piece of the proverbial to actually put prices up by 25 quid and write an honest article to accompany that and come out of it with far more good will than what they've managed with this so called price freeze. At every turn they try, in some way, to pull the wool over our eyes. Every time. They are nothing if not disingenuous. It always bites them in the harris but they keep on doing it. There is no beginning to their integrity. And they never learn. Everything comes across as insincerity. (Not the media team or the box office, I'm talking about when announcements are made from further up the food chain.) The incompetence is staggering but the modus operandi never changes: treat the customer as if they're idiots and we'll be fine. That it fails every time doesn't deter them. They're so bad at it I find it difficult to believe it's not deliberate. It's not, it's incompetence, but it's spectacular incompetence. Repeated ad infinitum. If you're buying a season ticket, good, I'm not trying to talk anyone out of that. And if you get it at the early bird price it's fantastic value. But I've more than had enough of supporting this panoptic arse gravy. It's so easy to do it so much better. Every single thing could be so much better. You could sort a lot of it out in an afternoon. Honestly, you could get 80% there in an afternoon. Stop treating your customers like vermin and you're 80% there, then you just need some ideas.
This feedback was given at the fan group meeting with the club. I'm a little surprised nothing was done about this.
At a guess they probably look towards how the current government get away with all manor of sh,ite and the public seemingly lap it all up and keep voting Tory and think yeah, we may as well treat 'em like mugs too.
Also nothing wrong with pointing out that it is, for whatever reason they wish to hide behind, not true to suggest the price has been frozen. They have not. That isn’t necessarily bad, it isn’t necessarily unfair pricing. In fact, it isn’t at all. Even for league one football. But the language they chose to use is misleading.
