Wow, where do I begin ?. Well I dun't understand the signing of Tedic for a start. Could he be given a chance at Leeds, can he be any worse than Cole and/or Iseka. That angers me as well that our 'owners' won't make the effort to spend just a bit, because we are in a precarious position still. They want the accumulate but simply aren't willing to speculate!. And what about our former favourite Mowatt, it din't really work out for him at West Brom did it.

You raise an interesting point about players on books etc. For a while now I’ve thought we are actually quite good at identifying players with potential but not so good at bringing them through and has made me question the benefit v cost of the academy.
I agree. I made the point more so because we're skint and you'd think we wouldn't want to sink any lower. Putting sentiment aside one would have assumed we'd have actually released those seven players and injected the funds however miniscule into the first team. Now we've got seven young lads who through no fault of their own aren't playing for the first team with under 18's and redefined under 21's vying for their places. Places which quite simply don't exist. It's mismanagement of the highest order. More so when you're skint.
It angers me we didn't at least approach West Brom. I can't believe Steve Bruce is 100 per cent happy Mowatt is at a promotion rival.
Personally, we have all not quite accepted development of players for other teams. The board themselves have stated this. I think with the predicament we are in, right now it's our only real choice of success this season. We need to sort out our finances, but we all want to challenge. So I think it will be a short term, this season (maybe next) we will relax that view and grab a couple of kids from the premier league. I'm not sure what else we can do tbh
Well I read Baggies Mad a lot, and they all want Bruce to eff off lol, or at least they did before hitting Hull for 5 at the weekend!. And it pains me to say it, but the former so called Messiah Hecky is doing quite well at the moment, at SheffUre.
Could it be argued that 5 contracts of 200 quid a week could have been ditched in favour of 1 decent player on 1k a week. My Dad has a saying " Freetund of missin' sumat" it springs to mind here. The future resale value of youngsters that may flop has been put in front of the immediate League position of the club. Are we about to see 11 players produced at Barnsley lining up? However, it won't be in League 1 or the Championship.
The problem i see with that view, your still taking a risk of that one 1k player being any good. Lower wages of that ilk, may turn out we have 5 players in future who do make a decent return. They could equally not like, but ditching 5 in favour of one, had probably a bigger risk. All sides need to be considered to be fair
Heres one of their threads that makes me giggle.. and the quotes about him/Bruce not being able to string some onions together, and about him picking his own bulbous nose!. No wonder it din't work out there for Mowatt. https://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38294054
To my mind looking at both arguments there's no right or wrong here. We're staring down the barrel without money. Not just on the pitch but off it. These people are billionaires and need holding to account. It's commendable being self sufficient if you're local baker or candlestick maker. These people are corporate. They have the capability to sell to a friend if they want. It doesn't add up. Are they sadists?
Which is the correct answer based on the club accounts. I've never known anything quite like our situation. Yes the club don't want to be on debt. However, the level to which people don't question the owners individually is nonsensical to me. I come across as bitter but that couldn't be further from the truth. I can't work out why Parekh in particular can't inject some of his billions into a million pound problem.
I certainly held the same view not so long back. Although we do have questions as to their wealth. It's not proven. Apart from the odd "media report" it's not anything that's substantially proved. I'm firmly in the camp that literally is "spectemur agendo" before I return. I was of the opinion that they f*££ed up, you pay to correct it and not have us mere mortals fund it. But they did state they have put a million in (have they really we won't know until the accounts show this next year). A lot needs to be shown by actions for me to accept them right now, but the odd few things seem to be going in the right direction. I won't blindly follow and accept stuff. I've put plenty in over the years and like many, have now found other things to do. And believe me, if I can hit that Stance of doing other things, anyone can....
Like I say, I can accept the short term change of plan to grab a couple of loanees. It's not what we really want to do (as fans I think) but can accept why. A short term "plug" isn't the fans fault as I noted. But they can't take the piss with some. (Others will blindly accept it) As I said, if I can suddenly not want to turn up, it really is needing to be fixed. For years I was the only one to keep pushing our entire group to keep renewing and go. I've lost that. And I hate being in that position. But I have. My kid is the only one pushing right now. But more interested in away games. Like pestering to go to bloody Ipswich of all places. Fine away days are great, but chuffing Ipswich, Christ I'm not driving that far haha
Lol. Get yourselves down there. On paper next three League games look possible defeats but there's sumat stoic about Duff that I like.
