Is it? There are ~1.9 billion Muslims who attend prayers more often and more regularly than the ~1.3 billion Catholics.

Yeah like said they get into these statuses to abuse. Even when you look at the grooming gangs in Rotherham wasn't that mostly taxi drivers trusted to take kids in care about?
Yeah I got the feeling last time you didn't like religion which is fair enough I'm not religious as such but I do think England could learn from some religious values and that no religion in the world Muslim Catholic cofe etc is telling people to do wrong.

Parts of the Bible literally tell people to do things we consider wrong. Now that may not be what is preached in a church but it is open to so much interpretation it does harm.
Still we see women's right eroded around the world in the name of religion. Still we see LBGT rights almost none existent in parts of the world in the ame of religion.
Religion is not responsible for of the worlds problems but it has historically and continues to do far more harm than good.

Amuses me on some levels. We have so many different religions all praying to the same God but with their own interpretation believing the others have got it wrong. Someone is wasting their time. Could it be everyone?

Which parts? We criticised the middle east but how we live in England is hardly sqeaky clean. I know religion has really helped some people aswell. Like said I don't think any religion is telling people to blow others up or harm others.

Googled a few as i obviously could not remember the actual wording. Which does change slightly depending on the version of the bible you take it from.

"When a slaveowner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives a day or two, there is no punishment; for the slave is the owner’s property."

"Permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent."

"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them."

"If men get into a fight with one another, and the wife of one intervenes to rescue her husband from the grip of his opponent by reaching out and seizing his genitals, you shall cut off her hand; show no pity."

"If a man meets a virgin who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are caught in the act, the man who lay with her shall give fifty shekels of silver to the young woman’s father, and she shall become his wife. Because he violated her he shall not be permitted to divorce her as long as he lives."

"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you obey Christ..."

    Fair enough ban all religion.

Would people still abuse their powers and status? Taxi drivers taking kids about in Rotherham? Jimmy Saville? Football coaches like the ones at crewe years back? Unfortunately yes.

Religion has good and bad bits for alot of people it has helped and some find comfort in having a belief.

Again i did not say religion is the only evil just that it has done more harm than good. Moreover I did not suggest banning it just hold it to account. I respect people's right to believe whatever fairytale they like. However I do not think it follows that the belief itself should be respected. Just because science doesn't know everything doesn't mean people can fill in the gaps with whatever fairy tale most appeals to them and be respected for it.
We don't look out into space with telescopes then in the interest of balance turn to someone who believes the sky is a carpet painted by God.
I'm sure religion has provided comfort to many for me better the hard truth, than the comforting fantasy. And in the final tolling it often turns out that the facts are more comforting than the fantasy.

I do concede I'm going down this religious rabbit hole a little too often. Maybe I should stop taking it literally, it's only the Bible, it's not gospel.

Probably as I only had a debate with you about it a few months ago. Where you came across very anti religion. I couldn't care if people are believing in the big bang, farther Christmas, Jesus or whatever long as there causing me no harm. The only reason why I posted was to give some perspective this blokes a scumbag abusing his position, like the Rotherham groomers abused theirs, like Jimmy Savile did, like the youth coaches at crewe and the other clubs did. I could go on and on. If these people weren't in those positions they would still be very dangerous.
I read furys book where he talks about Jesus saving him from suicide and been a big Catholic and the gypsy/Catholic community having low divorce rates etc I know people who have found god and turned their lives around which I think are all positive things.
Good and bad in all walks of life and religions you say religion has done more bad than good well imo that's debateable. Well that's me on this topic.

Yes it is debatable and we know which side I fall on but as you rightly say let's not have that debate!
